Re: Game abandoned?
I heard that Mee and Tarks both had niggles and due to us not having sufficient cover at centre half Dyche requested the game to be called off

Bbc reporting it so sadly must be true
Re: Game abandoned?
Abandoned on police advice.
Loads of rumours doing the rounds, but may not be the best thing posting them on here.
A female steward was seen receiving some sort of medical attention.

Re: Game abandoned?
I feel sorry for not just our fans but also for those away fans who did just come to watch a game of football. Long way to travel only to have it abandoned at HT. Unfortunately, there are always some idiots who spoil things for the majority. However, it was better to be safe than sorry and if the police could not guarantee the safety of fans then it's better off abandoned. Like I said on another thread, at least we won the first half
Hope Hannover 96 release an apology. This won't have done their club's reputation any good whatsoever.

Absolutely IL, however a large group of them had come over to make a name for themselves, they only came for 1 thing.
Shame they are not fighting the people who want to, instead throwing missiles/seats at families and children.
Could be an interesting evening around town tonight.

Re: Game abandoned?
Oh I'm sure there was a fair number of them. These types are rarely brave enough to speak and act out in such a way on their own. But on the scale of things, I'm sure they were still in the minority versus the number of regular, law-abiding fans.MACCA wrote:Absolutely IL, however a large group of them had come over to make a name for themselves, they only came for 1 thing.

Re: Game abandoned?
Not sure what the reason was but the behaviour of the Hanover fans was disgraceful.

The tarpaulin disappeared swiftly!
Re: Game abandoned?
I was hoping for a return leg had all things gone well today. Would quite fancy a nice weekend in Germany, Holland etc for a friendly.

They would not have got away with this in the 80s or 90s. The suicide squad lads would have ran them everywhere.

The thing is, these fans forget that everything is on social media nowadays. I've seen loads of photos of these fans on social media already. It won't be difficult to identify them.

Do you general think about what you post, or is it some form of fit where you have to type something?Saxoman wrote:Su su suicidal behaviour..
I'd normally ignore what you post, as it's all asinine at best, but having been on the Turf today and watched that ******* shower throwing seats around like chimps in captivity, your normally stellar wit has got on my nerves. Please do us a favour and **** off, if only for the afternoon.

Check out the soft lad on the right hand side with his hands up egging the Hanover fans on to "come and have a go if you think you're hard enough". Anybody recognise him?

Re: Game abandoned?
Just got back from the game.
From what I could tell, there was a foul on Gray then a bit of an altercation as a result.this seemed to set the German fans off.
They were throwing chairs and anything else they could at the fans in the cricket field.lots of children in that stand.Totally out of order!

More than you might think. They may not be as physically strong, but in some instances, they'd have more chance of diffusing a situation with a male aggressor than their male counterparts.KRBFC wrote:What good are female coppers? Especially at football...

It's a discussion for another day, but I am in the "right/fit/proper person needed for certain jobs" camp ( jobs within jobs more specifically )

There's a steward looking at the person egging them on. I doubt he said anything to him.

No, Saxo, what's sad is that you said it in the first place. That you found a shred of decency to delete it doesn't erase the fact you went with a moronic statement in the first place.Saxoman wrote:Really sad you quoted that as if you look back I've deleted it and posted support for your fans on the other thread.

People get caught up in this type of situation who's to say a young family member hasnt been injured by a thrown object and he's venting his frustration ...you don't know do you? Soft lad.FactualFrank wrote:I disagree. He's clearly goading their fans in attempt to cause more trouble. That to me, is being involved.
Re: Game abandoned?
All the police look a bit fresh faced. Maybe all the newbies. Bet they were sh1tting it.
Nice to see Hodo and Trunchball in the thick of it. Usually to busy causing none issues over who's sat where.

So now we know you were either involved, or know who was - that's still no excuse to try and defend them. Was they actually any vigilance though? The footage, pictures and stories I've heard so far haven't been ones of mass brawls or fisticuffs.Royboyclaret wrote:Quite an experience that!........Not on the scale of Celtic '79 but still the worst violence I've seen at Turf Moor in many a year.
