Cards given today have no ongoing effect. League starts with no cards next week.

Charity Shield -no effect on PL games, so no ban.

He is playing next week if selected. Community Shield red cards don't carry on into Premier League games.

Community shield game is in its own "bubble" regarding cards.

Said in commentary that red card for violent conduct counts so ban will be for first three games.

I'm willing to stand corrected then.

Pedro and Hazard out would still be nice. We'll take anything we can get.

I admit chelsea is stacked, but with Pedro out, as well as Eden Hazard, Victor moses, and bakayoko, it certainly doesn't hurt our chances.

A win against Chelsea would make us complacent for the rest of the season so i hope we lose.

Maybe because it's true. The Community Shield is a friendly, so cards aren't applicable to PL fixtures.

But the commentators kept telling us it was a competitive fixture!
Ivanovic was sent off in the 2012 Charity Shield and didn't receive a ban, but I believe if the red card is for violent conduct (as Pedro's was), the 3 game ban carries into the season.

Most Sports reports say no ban because the CS is classed a a friendly, however Chris Boden thinks it may be dependent on the referees report.

Have any of you considered using Google to find out the answer rather than just debating something that can be confirmed either but just waiting and seeing, or looking for the answer?

Only problem with that link is it's a year out of date, showing Andre Grey suspended for 4 games from sept 2016

The problem is with you, my friend. Try selecting "first team".

So if you ever wanted to flatten a referee, a friendly is a safe time to do it?

All I heard in commentary is it wouldn't apply to the Premier League but I didn't watch the post match stuff.
I'd sooner he started and got sent off against us
