When Saturday Comes/Nelson

I dont know how many read the footy monthly mag When Saturday Comes (WSC) but for those who read occasionally but don't subscribe, it's worth getting this month for 2 reasons:
1) There's a one-page article on the ups & downs of Nelson football club(s). ("Admirable Nelson"). It's not in huge depth given 1 page but crams in quite a lot of info including the statement that they were the first English club to beat Real Madrid in Spain (4-2 in the 1920s). I never knew that, it's certainly something to brag about.
2) The mag comes with the usual pre-season supplement which contains a little write up by a fan of each team in the top 4 English leagues & top Scottish league. Each write up has a dozen or so sentences covering hopes for the season; what was good/bad about last season etc. The Burnley contribution is by Kevin Clarke (I dont know of him but for all I know participates on this site). It's pretty interesting reading all these if you have a wider interest in footy.
WSC is the only sports mag I get nowadays; I like it for its intelligent coverage of lower leagues/non-league + coverage of fan issues/broader footy issues + book reviews etc. It tends to leave alone all the obvious sensationalised guff covered by main media such as "big 6", big money transfer speculation, what the stars had for breakfast etc.

Thought I would add to the O/Ps endorsement of WSC..it's a top read for anyone genuinely interested in football.
There is usually a good chortle to be had from comparing the league tables produced by the sum of each club representatives' predictions at the beginning of the season with the actual tables at the end of the season.

Nelson FC. The only British club to have a 100% away record at Real Madrid and Manchester United.

They played Real Madrid twice on that tour, and lost the other.
