I always seem to end up dissapointed each year. Skies are looking quite clear so should have a good chance for some good viewing.

Try to get outside most years but living in the City now makes it harder. Got out last year to the South Downs and it was magic. Not a great moon this year at 73% full.
Pics from 2015 and 2017

Seen a good 10 or so, seem to go 30 minutes seeing nothing then a few within minutes of each other. One was much larger and slower than the rest which was great! I think I'll give it another hour or so then call it a night on a cracking day!

Damn annoying that's what they are! I'm a big fan of this kind of stuff but i have always found meteor watching so frustrating and underwhelming.
Wait for ages..scanning the sky and then i always get one in the corner of my eye. Never where i am looking at. Very frustrating things. Sort of saw 3 or 4 in a 20 min spell and gave it up. Blink and you will miss one.

if i could tell where north, south , east or west was, i might stand a chance of seeing them, as it stands, im looking at clouds, planes (which i mistook for a slow moving perseid) basically, bugger all.
i reckon the perseids are stopping in watching Burnley on motd.

That's kind of how it goes, it very much depends on where you are. A town or city you're lucky to see much at all, you really have to get far away from light pollution for the best show.
As for looking in the right place there isn't really one (well there is technically) but they appear everywhere, you will always miss some out of the corner of one eye. Best thing to do is look at one patch and just wait, or scan very slowly.

I saw them, but didn't manage to photograph them; I don't do too well at the astro photography, and now I'm knackered too.

Not seen any tonight despite a break in the cloud cover.
