What time is the last flight into Leeds? Might that help?

Did it few years ago but flew back on the Sunday. From memory don't think the airport is too far from the centre.

Have a look at train times from Soton to airport - that may be easier with post match traffic - with a walk to rail station.

We're not all working as missionaries in Yorkshire.

If you aren't badly unfit, you can walk to (and into) the main S'hampton rail station in 15 mins (the away end is handy for the route). Then there are a lot of trains that will stop at Southampton Airport Parkway (the proverbial stone's throw from the runways). The train trip is 10 mins max and you'd be unlucky to have to wait as long as 10 mins for a train. Basically you can be at Parkway 30 mins or so after exiting the away end.
Just looking at Saturday times (S'h Central-Parkwy) that might be appropriate 17.00-17.07; 17.20-17.26; 17.30-17.37; 17.35-17.45.
The 17.00 would be a tough make and one of the bigger waits after that but 17.20 would be a doddle and arrives at the airport before 17.30.

Suppose it depends how long it takes to get through security!

Southampton airport is tiny and getting through security is a breeze. I would have thought the 18:55 is comfortable if you get the train to Parkway. Can take a little while to get out the ground and over the railway bridge but the 17:20 should be doable. Less than 5 mins from train to the terminal.

From what I recall from that weekend I don't think your memory was anything to be relied on. At least you flew back Sunday morning. Flight delays meant we didn't leave Southampton until late on Sunday night. That was a long day.

We flew to and from Southampton for last seasons game at Bournemouth.
As mentioned above the train station is right across from the terminal building, no more than 2 minutes walk.
We were flying back to Manchester on Sunday lunchtime, day after the game. It's the smallest British airport that I've ever flown from, as the two of us got to security we were the only people going through at the time.
It really is very easy and efficient there.
So you should have no problems making that flight.
Have the TV fixtures been announced yet for that date?

Its feasible but more hassle than its worth. Hour to manchester airport. Need to be there 90 mins early. Hour flight. Half hour to ground. Can drive it in that!
I used to fky to southampton for work but started getting the car as it wasnt worth it imo.

Think that might have been the night another of my nephews found a novel way of eating a curry. Instead of fork to mouth it was face to plate.
