That seems a very precise figure or is that just conversion from €12 mil?

Can see this happening as they want Lucas Perez from Arsenal presumably as lined up replacement. Would be happy with this especially as it's a good 8 million or so less than the reported Wood offer.

12 goals in 37 last year I believe and thats in La Liga. PL is a big step up. Not too keen but I would like to be proven wrong

Did well last year in a struggling Depor.
I'd say he's significantly better than Chris Wood so would be much happier with this.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that the club is fairly happy to let all these "bids" air in public while they quietly operate in the background trying to complete the transfers for the players they really want. Seems we are after a hell of a lot of players if all these links are to be believed. Could there be an element of smokescreening d'you reckon :?:

I wouldn't say Premier League is a step up. La Liga is much better technically although not as competitive at the top. and I'd say 12 goals in that league is more impressive than Andre Gray's nine in the Premier League.

He makes goals as well and is improving nicely.

I'd rather sign his brother, Ariston. He has nice clean strike on him.

Only 11 players scored more than him last year in thew Spanish league, and 5 of them played for Real Madrid or Barcelona.

I think even though signing this lad would be a risk, it could pay off. £12 mil is peanuts in this market and Europe does hold some hidden gems. Lots of time for him to improve and may be worth going for.

Quite possibly, but the tourist rate at present is roughly 1 = 1, and predictions are that not too far in the future the Euro will be worth more than the pound!

I watch a lot of La Liga, finally a potential target I can get genuinely excited about. This guys movement is excellent and exactly the type of player we should be looking for to get the best out of Defour too

He centainly looks good on the youtube videos, he Looks like danny ings, plays like robbie blake on speed ! I would be happy with this, a genuine number 10 who is 2 footed and could play on either wing.

If nothing else dare I suggest he appears the right age and "profile" for a gamble, fee dependent. Rather than, for example, a dead end like Hennings.

From earlier in the summer when Watford were after him:
Deportivo are not keen to sell for anything less than £17m, but even that is much lower than the striker's release clause, which is thought be closer to the £26m mark.

A strikers release clause obliges the club to sell if that bid is made. The club can agree a price less than that if they want.

Don't think you quite get how it works.
Around 12 million sounds like a good price in today's market irrespective of the exchange rate, but obviously if the pound continues to weaken then we get less Euros if we sell him back.
Like any export a weak pound makes him cheaper to any prospective European buyer.
