Foundation club bar

Morning, I have recently become a member of the Foundation club and as such am planning on going to the foundation bar before (and possibly after) Saturday's game. Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a dress code and if you can get food in there too?
Also, does anyone know roughly how busy it gets before matchdays and if it is open after the game too. Sorry for the barrage of questions but can't find much out from the club website and don't fancy phoning and being on hold......thanks in advance.

Theres no dress code, its busy before the game, (but not heaving). After the game its not as busy though. Food is available, there's something different every week, but think Pie and Pies.

So a large pie with loads of little pies on top?
That's awesome.

There is no dress code in the foundation bar but if you want a seat you need to go early. Food is loose pie & peas, lasagne, cottage pie chips that sort of Fayre. Beer is John Smith's £3-40

Strange that they put really nice ale on in the fanzone at £3 a pint.

Looking forward to the new fanzone. I much prefer it in there to the foundation. The choice of real ale makes it a no brainer for me anyway.

I don't bother with a pint these days but I certainly wouldn't be going in anywhere for John Smith's at that price when there is real ale just outside.

It was £2.50 a pint and then they hiked it up a £1 during last season.
Was rumour that the bar was been moved out of the JM Stand to the sports centre for coming season?
There is a guest speaker too, usually the ignorant ones in the far corner carrying on their conversations regardless.
Do the Foundation send out passes for the bar or do you have to collect from the office?

You will also find that someone arrives early, puts about 8 seats around a table and then an item of clothing in each one. So there will be loads of empty tables with no seats around them. A few tables with loads of empty seats and one or two people insisting that someone is sat there. Invariably they turn up an hour later this denying many people a seat. This has been raised many times, nothing is done about it so people i know don't use the bar now.
As said, fanzone with Moorhouses at 3 quid a pint is infinitely more appealing than John Smiths. At any price.

Oh and make sure you wear just a t-shirt as the temperature is tropical so much that the windows steam up. One poor bloke coming back from the toilets keeled over near the bar area before one game last season.

easy enough to move said item off a chair ive found. Hogging chairs like that is rude and should be treated as such. If someone less mobile comes along i'll give up my seat but otherwise they can swivel

Dress code is grown men wearing signed burnley shirts, a baseball cap with pin batches on, a burnley bench coat from the last 90s early 00s.
Being overweight isn't a dress code but it seems a necessity

I don't go in now. Too busy, not very comfortable and beer too expensive. I've not even collected my pass for the last 2 seasons.

I was a foundation member for 3 seasons but not anymore...as previuos poster said they hiked up the price of a pint of john smiths crap beer by a quid ....people reserving seats for others who may or may not turn up an hour later while folks cant get a seat....far better off in tbe fan zone.....can still watch early match on tvs...far better beer and a choice and food available from the vans close by.....

And the random queuing at the bar, usually when someone gets served they don't move down the bar so the next folk who've waited ages can get served!!
Can't wait for Saturday!!

To be met with 'someone is sat there'. That someone may or may not turn up. It's more hassle than it's worth for overpriced crap beer when there is better on offer around the corner.

I went to school with 2 of the children of that Gordon rollings who was the guy that did the old john Smith's advert with the somersaulting jack Russell (and did the voice for the herbs).
If ever there was a part appropriate for somebody it was him as he was a complete p1ss head. Allegedly he set fire to his thatched cottage after a bender at the fairlight cove hotel one night.
So dont drink john Smith's boys and girls. You might torch your assets.

Guest speaker is the only part that is worth it. It is as if the Bob Lord satnad meet there before the match.
