The thought being that we steriotype boys and girls and therefore deprive them of their 'possibilities'. It is probably true but they are still different and certainly not neutral!

I thought the programme was interesting despite my natural resistance to it.

The experiment with the babies I've seen before somewhere and it was interesting but not mentioned that a baby boy dressed as a girl still went for a 'boyish' toy despite the encouragement to be girly by the helper.

It was mentioned that our brains differ little at these young ages but no mention was made of hormones - brain chemistry if you like. I don't know what influence hormones have at a young age but I suspect they have some.

Are there any other mammals that are gender neutral? I think there's a range of differentiation in nature.

I watched it too, with my initial thought being "this is going to be a load of ********"

It was interesting though, but not sure its changed my opinion.

Blue being the colour associated with The Virgin Mary and therefore better suited to little girls than the more dangerous pink.

Changing gender stereotypes is not new.

I hope Trump comes out and says he now identifies himself as female, without actually doing anything to look/act differently.

It would mean the feminists/Trans people would have to admit he is the first female President.

It's quite interesting that one of the modern ways of thinking is that gender is determined by a something that happens in the brain at 11 weeks and that makes a person's brain either male or female; and another modern way of thinking is that there's no difference between male and female. Obviously they can't both be right - so is it unreasonable of me to stick with the old fashioned way of determining male and female until the moderns get their act together?

I can understand the idea of giving more choice to children, rather than imposing stereotypes that match the norms in society, however great care needs to be taken. When born children are either male or female(in general, there are some exceptions), but giving choice will lead to more incorrect choices, based on pressure from the main stream media, who seem intent on highlighting difference for the sake of it. I find the constant media coverage disproportionate and in favour of tiny minority groups, however these once small minority groups seem to grow year on year.

I find the following puzzling:

LGBTTIQQ2SA-Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Questioning, 2-Spirited and Allies.

I remember when you were either a lad or a lass.

You can tell by reading this thread who watched the program and who read the Daily Mail while having a dump this morning.

I've no idea if they have an opinion on this, but if they did, it wouldn't be balanced, or probably even accurate.

I've been thinking a bit more about this whilst mowing lawns! (It's a sign of a good TV programme if it makes you think)

What is the purpose of childhood. Surely it is to prepare you for being an adult. Of course being an adult these days is a lot more complicated then it used to be but there are still some essential facts that remain the same, namely gender and the effects of puberty. It is at puberty that bodies change and hormones change our responses too.

A girl will unquestionably become a woman after puberty and as such she has certain responsibilities that men don't have. For that reason there are lessons that girls need to learn that are not directly relevant boys.

All this does not mean that both genders (and any others that care to be considered) should not have equal opportunities or be denied those by peer pressure. If the concept in this programme is looked at from that point of view that is fine.

The other thing I remember from my childhood is that whilst I mixed and played with girls occasionally at school (having a go at skipping for example), mostly I played with boys because I wanted to (read into that what you like!).

Is it not therefore reassuring that there's a movement toward simplicity; that we're just people? My eldest daughter is interested in these subjects, and predicts a future in which people will choose more bespoke family structures and be happier as a result.

The Daily Mail must be wrong on all fronts as it leans to the right.

The sooner we have a mixed team of people formerly known as males, females, bi, and transsexuals the better. Only then can we demonstrate equality and fairness. In fact there should be a quota so that targets are met and equal numbers are put into the team whether they are good enough or not.

But is it 'one of many'? I've been an exile for 8 years so I wouldn't know what type of percentages we're looking at in the UK.

I certainly believe that the family unit is being destroyed and that we're becoming more and more state owned.

Do you think the Mashco-piro tribe in Peru suffer these social dilemmas. I think a big table spoon of reality check is required in the pc pioneering UK.

I'm totally tired of TV and social media telling me what's right and wrong.

I reckon there is a tiny percentage of people not wired up right who are born " into the wrong body"
