Atmosphere

Post by Vegas Claret » Sat Aug 19, 2017 6:04 pm

Sounded like a library for the most part today from the coverage on TV. Was it that bad and if so why ? Just watching the Stoke game and the atmosphere is superb.

Was very poor but maybe that's what you get when the opposition only bring about 1500 and we can't get an effort on target.

Used to get a good atmosphere on the Turf regardless of the number of away fans, shame it's got ****

Think it was the type of play, very scruffy, bitty, niggly. Lots of stoppages, time wasting that didn't help. Crowd can't get into any rhythm as well as the team

Then you thought wrong.

It doesn't help when the best the CFS can muster is that annoying song about Steven Defour and someone, apparently, not understanding who he is. :?

I suspect a lot of lads in the Cricketfield Stand are still a bit shaken from the going over they got off the Germans

Game wasn't available here on normal TV. What I saw on the highlights was a number of empty seats. What? You lot not fans of watching Tony Pulis park the bus? Or maybe you've seen too much of it already, like an old re-run.

A poor away following doesn't help. It appears that seven years of being in the Prem has grown a little stale for WBA fans. Either that, or the quality of football Pulis is serving up is keeping them away. I couldn't bear to watch that excuse for football week in, week out; it appears that loads of them can't too.

Watched it on TV and the crowd got behind them when they had a decent spell, albeit not for very long.

Dyche vs Pulis, the only time I moved to the edge of my seat is when I got up to go for a slash.

Not sure what people expect. Fans need something to get behind, a game that poor is hardly likely to have a rip-roaring atmosphere is it?

Same as normal Cricket field stand sing songs and then dies out. The rest of the ground join in after we have scored. We didn't so they kept quiet.

Was pretty flat even in the cfs where I stand but understandable with the game being a yawn fest for 80% of the time.

Atmosphere was pretty p1ss poor TBH,Cricketfield, after their obligatory opening 10 mins died its usual death and (again as usual) nothing much for the rest of the match bar the awful Defour song.

The JHU and JHL (3-5ish) do make a token effort but quite simple the CFS has diluted the ground atmosphere considerably .How long we had the ripple and crescendo going down the JH?

I was just watching on a stream online :D So I can't comment on atmosphere much (though it did seem a bit quiet). I guess I just enjoyed us seeing more of the ball, creating chances etc.

You need to be at a game to sample atmosphere. Impossible to really know what it was like from a TV screen.

Christ if all the miserable ba5tards on here got tickets in the CFS and put as much energy into singing I'm sure it would be a brilliant atmosphere.

The streams I watch,it looks like they are actually playing without a ball so I suppose it was quite good seeing the ball

I think there were quite a few on today who thought we just had to turn up to beat WBA.

That won't happen against any team in this division.

Thought it was crap in cfs. Particularly embarrassing singing youre effing sh1t to wba at nil nil. A team and manager we never beat too. Obviously they were going to score shortly after.

Makes it worse that you lose points for atmosohere this season as well. Could be down by October unless we all sing.

Not a lot to shout about today tbh. West brom were in our faces from the first whistle.just stopping any flowing football we produced.the game really didn't get going. It will lift I'm sure.

Was that which was mentioned (will have a backlash now saying it wasn't though anyway) .

Still another to come though apparently but waiting on other club to still do some business. (Not as sure on that info though as it can be hit and miss).

Please don't say you're excited about a signing again unless it's a real billy big time. I think everyones sights were set a bit higher than Chris Wood off your post.

Even though you're entitled to be excited by it haha.

Match status/opposition can make a big difference though.
v Arsenal everyone is pumped cos it's a big match. WBA hardly get the pulse racing.

Crowd V WBA Score 5

Post by IanMcL » Sun Aug 20, 2017 11:21 am

I thought the Burnley fans were hopeless in our support yesterday. No big chants or singing at the outset, to intimidate the opposition and the Longside was a church for most of the match. This is second season syndrome, when the crowd just expect instead of giving everything to support those we know need every bit of help and support, to keep them going.

better wake up or it will all turn nasty!

To be fair I was in Townley yesterday and I thought the atmosphere was quite buoyant. Seemed loud enough.

My wife did comment though that we only sing 3 songs.
