Pope 7 not much to do but did it well
Bardsley 8 solid backup
Taylor 8 fantastic debut. Will be very good in time.
Tarkowski 9 his best game for us
Long 8 see tarks
Brady 8 very good in parts and a great goal
Arfield 9 fantastic. He plays excellent against these
Cork 10 that good
Westwood 7 was quiet but did ok
Walters 7 looked ok but that foul was ridiculous
Barnes 8 solid. They couldnt handle him.

Wood 7. Did ok. Could and should have scored. Looks quick.

Pope 6 quiet - one dropped cross caused a bit of worry
Bardsley 7 decent - could have been sent off for the challenge near the end on another day
Taylor 9 Looks a player, quick, strong, direct, decent delivery
Tarkowski 8 Solid
Long 8 Solid
Brady 9 1 goal, 1 assist, took the mick - quality.
Arfield 8 Just rock solid as ever - never lets the team down.
Cork 10 "More touches than Blackburn" - may not be strictly true, but appeared to be close
Westwood 8 won plenty of ball, but wasted plenty too
Walters 6 Injured early
Barnes 7 so-so

Wood 7 - Quiet, but had 2 good chances, and hit the target with both. More of a poacher type?

Rest 8,
Brady 9
Taylor 9 MOM , that's all.
He's Fast, reads the game, fearless, keeps on going. If he remains our back up left back, Ward will be on fire!

Long gone are the days of Brian Easton and Lee Briscoe

Pope 6 Quiet game
Bardsley 6 looked rusty at times
Long 7. Good defensively
Tark 9. Tower at the back
Taylor 8. Poor first half, brilliant 2nd
Brady 9*. Mom our main attacking threat
Cork 8. Good composure and marshalled well
Westwood 7. Some good play and some slack
Arfield 8. Played well but faded
Walters 6. Done naff all but played with an injury
Barnes 7. Held up well and hassled for the ball

Wood 6. Looked off the pace and missed a couple of sitters. Mr Gray would have snaffled at least 1 up no question.

Pope: 7 - Acquitted himself well, the one error was deemed a foul
Bardsley: 7 - Solid.
Long: 8 - Coped well with the endless hoofball
Tarkowski: 8 - As above. Barely put a foot wrong
Taylor: 9* (MOTM) - They couldn't deal with him.
Arfield: 7.5 - His work rate suited the game well
Westwood: 7 - Couple of loose passes second half but assured performance
Cork: 9 - Already looks indispensable to this team.
Brady: 8 - One or two lazy passes but goal and assist more than makes up. Showed his class.
Barnes: 6.5 - Good hold up play, went down a bit too often
Wood: 6 - Also good hold up play, lacked composure for two good chances

And tomorrow/today the result will still be the same and each player will receive their deserved ratings.
We can only beat what's in front of us, albeit a struggling League 1 side.

I thought Tarkowski was outstanding again but Jack Cork gets a 10 from me all day long. Sublime performance from him.

Deemed by who?
It was a very poor piece of goalkeeping, and but for the subsequent Rovers cock-up would have cost us a goal and put us under unnecessary pressure for the final 10 minutes.
He got v lucky.

Don't think you went to deadwood either if you didn't think he had a good game.

Pope - 6 always nervous when ball went near him personally

Bardsley - 7 solid enough
Tarky and Long - 8 didn't give them a sniff
Taylor -9 - looks very promising
Westwood - 9 - he was all over them like a rash, and put that little turd on the ground too.
Cork - 9 - made it look easy
Brady - 8 - work rate excellent, still picked wrong passes at times but what a goal
Arfield - 9 - he played brilliantly, would have loved a goal for him. Just hope it's not a farewell
Barnes - 8 - they had no idea how to play against him, and another I hope hat we keep simply for that reason
Walters -8- was our best player barring Cork before he went off.
Wood -7- should have scored, maybe a little excited so give him eh benefit of the doubt. Not the easiest game to make your debut.....or maybe it was UTC

Pope 6 - Nothing to do really but the mistake in the second half could have put us under pressure.
Bardsley 7 - Got away with a daft tackle but otherwise solid
Long 7 - Steady away
Tarkowski 7 - See Long
Taylor 9* - Wow. Speed, can beat a man and defensively sound. Looks a real gem albeit against lower league opposition.
Brady 9 - Some silly errors but made up for it with drive and a goal.
Westwood 8 - Kept the ball moving.
Cork 8 - As per Westwood and good positioning for the goal.
Arfield 7 - Not a great first 30 mins, better in the rest of the game.
Walters 7 - Amazed he stayed on and it looked like his ankle was troubling him before he came off.
Barnes 7 - Battled unfortunately no reward.

Wood 7 - I was right behind his first chance which he should have buried. Also disappointed when he blazed over under no pressure in the second half. Otherwise hold up play was good.

Pope 6 not a lot to do, looked fairly comfortable ( apart from the dropped cross)
Bardsley 7 solid performance, rash challenge could have seen us down to 10 tho
Taylor 8 really impressed with this lad, quick, direct and looks ready to fight for left back berth
Tarkowski 8 Won everything in first 15 mins, when wovers were coming at us. A touch over
confident at times
Long 7 put in a solid performance
Brady 9 this lads got some serious talent
Arfield 8 a real live wire
Cork 9 what a player our Jack is, commanding and composed ( great pass to find Brady for second goal)
Westwood 8 midfield pair bossed midfield
Walters 6 Carried a knock most of first half, reliable performer
Barnes 8 does what Barnsey does, makes a nuisance of himself

Wood 7 there's something about him, think he'll do well when he settles in

Pope 6 - could have had the deckchair out
Bardsley 6 - looked a bit rusty early doors and was probably lucky to stay on the pitch, but looked steady enough overall
Taylor 8 - excellent debut. Got forward really well and looked solid defensively
Tarkowski 8 - a very assured and composed performance
Long 7 - decent game
Brady 9 - too much quality for Blackburn. Set up one and scored the other
Arfield 7 - some tidy play, decent enough
Cork 9 - ran the game and got us off the mark
Westwood 8 - very good alongside Cork
Walters 6 - early injury didn't help him. Unfair to judge him on this performance
Barnes 6 - had nuisance value but little in the way of quality
Wood 6 - got into some good positions but wasteful in front of goal

Pope 6 did everything well apart fro, that one cross.
Bardsley 6 solid display
Taylor 9 Excellent display both in attack and defence, his link up play with Scotty opened them up time and again
Tarkowski 8 dominant once again I'm the air, comfortable on the floor ( which did lead to a bit of too casual play late on)
Long 6 fairly solid and unspectacular display, looked a bit unsettled when Samuel came on
Brady 7 Makes some poor decisions but no doubting he's got that bit of something and his goal was quality
Arfield 9 MoM - wonderful display of taking the ball on the half turn and driving forward. looked a threat from midfield and lonked up really well with Taylor
Westwood 8 partnership with cork which after the first ten mins controlled the game
Cork 8 controlled the midfield dictating play
Barnes 7 led the line well after Walters went off
Walters 6 injured so contribution clearly hampered

Wood 6 took up decent positions but only a 6 for me as he didn't score

We were so much better than them it was both frightening and hilarious. It was almost like we were toying with them by giving them the ball just to see how quickly we could win it back...which 99% of the time was within about 2 seconds !!

Anyhoo ratings :

Pope 6 - nothing to do but did drop once cross. Kicking was good.
Bardsley 6 - his first game so probably a bit rusty. I thought his touch and passing was not the best.
Taylor 9 MOM - first half he was good but couple of dodgy first touches. Second half he was exceptional.
Tarkowski 8 - made it look very easy and won everything
Long 6 - never in trouble but few times he looked a bit panicky (bit like Bardsley) and could have shown more composure. Also looked painstakingly slow in one particular chase for the ball in the first half which was a bit of a reminder of his limitations.
Brady 8 - frustrating at times as he does make the wrong decision but he was far too good for them. He is the one player in our team who takes risks and I think we need this as against quality teams you need that bit of magic or something different to unlock defences. As long as he takes the risks in the oppositions half and tracks back like he has been this year then he will be a big asset.
Arfield 7 - mixed views on his performance. He did carry the ball well but in the second half especially he gave it away numerous times. I love Arfield but I honestly think we now need better quality - and I think we have it in Defour, Cork and Hendrick (and even Westwood)
Westwood 8 - played well and he keeps things moving in the midfield with simple but effective play. I don`t think you can play Westwood and Defour in the team together but both compliment Cork and the rest of the midfield really well.
Cork 9 - continued from his brilliant performance on Saturday with another great performance. He was everywhere. If he can add half a dozen goals to his season then we have an absolute bargain here.
Barnes 7 - typical Barnes performance. Caused them loads of problems and gave everything.
Walters 6 - injured early doors so hard to judge. Interesting comment on one of the ratings about him being the best player on the pitch before the injury. Not sure about that. First 15 mins of the game were awful from both teams until we took control.

Wood 7 - thought his touch looked good and he had 2 great chances.
