Tonight's result is significant, since it means we now have 42 wins to their 41 in local Derby's. It's taken a few years to nudge ahead, but finally we are officially and statistically SUPERIOR - again!
How long before we meet again?

Maybe we should "bump" it every 6 minutes!
Edit: Damn 2 seconds too late!
Still a good read though!

Well isn't that a very nice stat. Just another reason to enjoy a routine win over the neighbours

Biggest away win in a derby in almost 20 years.
Unbeaten in almost 10.
Superior in every way.

take a look back through Rovers stats for the last time they got 2 consecutive wins at Turf Moor; it was a very, very long time ago.

I think it will be a long number of years (short of the luck of a numbered ball being pulled out of a bag) before anybody has the chance to alter that 42/41 stat one way or the other as well.

The Ferrari has hit a tree and set on fire, and the Mini has had some go faster stripes added and a big f**k off exhaust fitted.

Only a complete tw@t overcompensating for his tiny pecker would be seen driving a Ferrari over a Mini.

Should be longer as the last two, before the 7 undefeated, we were robbed.

Sorry to p!ss on everybody's bonfire, but according to Wiki, it's 41 each.
Another interesting stat though is that while B@stards fans will inevitably trott out their "35 years" thing, in terms of actual games we're only one behind that sequence - now 7 unbeaten against 8.
Hopefully we'll get them in the FA Cup as well!!!

https://www.11v11.com/teams/blackburn-r ... n/Burnley/ says it is 42-41 including tonight's result
Also their most recent run was 11 games - 7 wins and 4 draws.

Yep. As pointless a derby then as they are now. The gap too much between. The last decent derby was with Sam in charge of us and coyle as your boss. The 3-2.

Just spent a couple of hours trawling through the stats and they've had 1 more draw than us, but that was down to Dunn's big fat offside arse.

If you just count League, FA Cup and League Cup matches it's 41 a piece with 18 draws, which makes last night's match the 100th such meeting.
There's the two Anglo Scottish Cup matches in 1976 and 1977 - a win for Burnley and a draw - and a load of Lancashire cup matches and friendlies which aren't included in the stats.

Anglo-Scottish Cup matches are officially recognized as competitive fixtures, and stats should be included along with FA Cup, League Cup etc.
There were - in fact- sanctions for clubs who didn't play a recognised first 11.
The 2 Anglo-Scottish ties are therefore correctly included, and that makes it 42, 41, 19, though Blackburn fans are still trying to work out if they have more draws than us.

7 unbeaten. Joint 2nd longest unbeaten streak in the head-to-head. Longest is 11 which Rovers acheived from 1982 and 2010
Longest winning streak is 6, also held by Rovers. Our first 6 matches from 1888 to 1890. currently we've won 4 in a row.
We have 3 consecutive clean sheets against them too. That has previously only been acheived by either team twice. Rovers acheived 3 consecutive clean sheets from 2000-2005 and we managed 4 from 1898-1899
