Two colleagues at work (Spurs fans) went to the game on Sunday and said Arfield really impressed them. Worked his socks off apparently.

I've been impressed with Arfield in both games, thought he was fantastic against Blackburn (granted against much worse opposition). I think he will be unlucky to lose his place to Hendrick.

Working his socks off is the one thing you can always guarantee from Scott Arfield. I thought he had a very good game on Sunday.

Really like the guy. He's made the place his home. His performance at Ewo*d showed that he really understood the fixture. We could really be getting the peak years of his career in the next season or two. He's well worth hanging onto.

The fella's never been in doubt as far as I'm concerned.

Can't fault Scotty. He always gives his all but he seems to be particularly focused this season. Been excellent for us anyway but seems to have that determination to step up with fresh competition.

We were talking about Arfield on the way down on Sunday when we thought he was the likely replacement for Hendrick.
I said if he was to leave tomorrow (which was yesterday and he didn't) then the article could be nothing but positive given his contribution over the last four years. I remember his first game for us in a pre-season friendly at Morecambe and the response on the message board that we had a player released by Huddersfield on trial. Virtually every post was suggesting we were going nowhere if this was the calibre of player were bringing in.

Has had 4 years with us he could never have dreamt of when let go by Huddersfield. Thought his time here was up in May but he's a tough, honest footballer who relishes a challenge. As just mentioned, he understands Burnley Football Club and hopefully for him and us there might still be something left in the tank.

I thought he played much better when he was moved onto the wing. I thought he left Vokes way too isolated in the first half when he was in the centre.

Surprised you think that kefka. I think vokes was always going to be a bit isolated against spurs away, arfield was back in shape defensively wherever they had the ball. It's only when we were chasing the game we had support in numbers in the final third.
I thought arfield found some great space in the centre of the pitch, wasn't afraid to take the game to them and as a result made some space for our wide players. His passes to them were always weighted nicely too.
With a bit more pace he'd be one heck of a player. That's not to say I don't rate him now, but with an extra yard he'd beat people for fun.

Thought he wasn't great against Spurs. No one could ever question his attitude or endeavour. The frustration came when we relied on him and Boyd to be our creative outlets. Now that we have creativity coming from other players I genuinely believe Arfield's contributions will be appreciated even by those, such as myself, who grew frustrated at times at the lack of creativity.

Prob my current favourite player for us in terms of character and attitude and seems a top bloke but if he is first choice backup for both the wingers and Hendrick then that tells me our squad is still lacking in depth.
Would love to have him in the squad as 4th choice winger and back up for midfield should we get a run of injuries and suspensions but sentiment aside we have moved forward again this year and Scotty is a squad filler at best this season

Great character. Great desire. Great fit for Burnley.
Was brilliant at Ewood and again Sunday. He is like a slow messi

Reminds me of Freddie Flintoff for some reason. Seems a smashing bloke.

His late winner against Everton last season is my favourite Scotty moment. The joy on his face as he ran back to the centre of the pitch, wagging his finger as he did so. Fan bl00dy tastic!

He was superb against Spurs.
His contribution and commitment harnessed to that engine, is immense.
Again a spirit of Burnley.

If we play a midfield 5 I think it will be Brady, Cork, Defour, Hendrick, Arfield. Looks pretty strong to me.

His winner at Ewood a couple of seasons back for me. His celebration summed up his commitment to the club completely.

Totally agree with the sentiments about Scott.
I fear history repeating itself with some of the idiotic stuff on this board re another potential recruit from Huddersfield....
