Can be slightly frustrating with his crossing, but we are crying out for a player with his dribbling ability combined with pace.

His ability to get us up the pitch and take pressure off our defence would be invaluable.

Re: Aaron lennon
His crossing is a little suspect but looking at how Wood plays and his movement then Lennon cutting balls back/accross the box would suit him to a tee.UpTheBeehole wrote:Can be slightly frustrating with his crossing, but we are crying out for a player with his dribbling ability combined with pace.
We have Brady who can cross a ball in very well along with Lowton/Defour on the right who can chip in........ The fact we could have Lennon/Brady swapping wings midgame (similar to Spurs midfielders) and offering something different would make this a brilliant signing IMO.

Re: Aaron lennon
Both Vokes and Wood have got really good movement in the box, some real potential for cut backs etc.

Loan - definitely yes. Would be good for us and Aaron. We need more competition at right half/right wing.
Signing - No. Needs to prove his physical/mental fitness and improve his consistency.

Lots of players suffer exactly the same as Lennon and it doesn't come out. Don't need to worry about his mental health.

I'd say yes for a season long loan, and I'd try to get Ingsy with our other Prem loan

Just done some digging on this and contacts at Everton are saying that Loan is most likely and expect it'll be done by end of the day.Mala591 wrote:Loan - definitely yes. Would be good for us and Aaron. We need more competition at right half/right wing.

I'd be happy with him. Final ball needs improvement but he has the ability to cause defences problems.

Oh, please no.
Hats off to the optimists who think a thirty year old is magically now going to learn how to kick a ball the required 20 yards instead of slinging it an extra 25 yards past the back post.

Yes. Everton want Lennon to stay but he's definitely not good enough for Burnley.thatdberight wrote:Oh, please no.

Hes a good back up tho
Re: Aaron lennon
So you think he's not good enough for Burnley even though he seems to be good enough to get on the pitch this season for Everton ?Rileybobs wrote:Yes. Everton want Lennon to stay but he's definitely not good enough for Burnley.
He might be 30 years old but he still has pace and played at a much higher level than any of our current first team.
Personally I think if we got him on loan he`d be a great low risk signing and give us something different to anything we have in the current squad.
Re: Aaron lennon
I really hope this happens for the op who was questioned over whether he saw the right person at the training ground.

Rileybobs' comment is to your head as an Aaron Lennon cross is to a waiting centre-forward in the middle of the penalty area...TVC15 wrote:So you think he's not good enough for Burnley even though he seems to be good enough to get on the pitch this season for Everton ?

I can see this bubbling away in the background.Bordeauxclaret wrote:Boden thinks there is.
The lad who saw him at Gawthorpe, the fact he is probably available and in budget and now some rumblings from Boden (believe it or not he does know some stuff).
Pete Stevenson from Sky just said that there is nothing in it, not sure I fully believe that. I think a winger is coming in today, one way or the other.
Re: Aaron lennon
According to some, Boden never get's told anything.....

Burnley Express now reporting we want him on loan but is dependent on whether Kevin Miralles is sold.If he is then Everton will stick hold of Lennon.Watch this space basically it could be a late one.

Re: Aaron lennon
Played at Tottenham under Jol, Ramos, Redknapp, AVB and Pochettino.
Played at Everton under Martinez and Koeman.
Player for England and in the squads under McClaren, Capello and Hodgson.
Wanted to be signed by a manager like Dyche.
But yet a few posters on UTC says he is crap then he must be crap.
