Would be an excellent signing for not very much money. Everton only spent £4.5m to sign him two years ago.

Presumably his health issues are under control so he can focus on football.

A few of us seen him and so him drive away from new building bout 5-30

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Aaron Lennon was his display against us at White Hart Lane in the first leg of the league cup semi final in 2009. Most of his crosses that night were woeful and seemed to go out for a throw in on the opposite side of the pitch!

That said, he's been a quality player throughout his career and quite apart from whether this turns out to be more drivel, I sincerely hope he's firmly over his health concerns.

Funny the thing that stands out for me is when he was about 16 or 17 and ripped us apart for Leeds.

Regardless, we desperately need a pacey right footed winger.

When was the last time he played?

He was unwell last I read (significant understatement).

Good player in his day, but can he still cut it?

Been involved at Everton this season.

Leaving aside his recent illness - which would certainly be a reason to tread carefully, its hard to think of a realistic signing who is more ideally suited to the right sided role in the 451 with a target man we've adopted this season.

It will of* been a youth team player with the same fade haircut, and a line or 2 through their eyebrow.

To be fair to Everton they are a proper club and I'm sure they've done everything they possibly can for him.

Whether or not there's anything in this you'd imagine regular football would be a big help in his recovery so he may need to move on, permanently or otherwise, to achieve that.

If you look at this purely from a footballing perspective he'd be a very good fit for us and have others have said doubt he'd find a more welcoming/supportive environment.

Been back in at Everton since the start of pre-season and came on for Jagielka for last 7 mins at Chelsea. Also came on at half time against Hadjuk Split last Thursday.

Why would he be joking? It's the law of the land.

I'm not permitted to take photographs at a youth game now in case there are any under-16s playing.

why would I be on a wind up or fishing better things to do . Players will look at the new place as it's a big selling point.

Whether you are fishing or not Stan8, you are definitely 100% right in our new training ground being a big selling point.

Putting aside his recent mental health issues which are well documented, if I am commenting on him purely on a footballing basis I am not a fan.

He has always struck me as a winger where the term 'all fart, no ****' is pretty close to the mark. He is fast and can beat a player, but his final ball be that a cross or a shot is very suspect. Having said that, he has had a long career at this level and gained quite a few England caps (admittedly they are given out like sweets these days) so perhaps my judgment is off based on the occasions I have seen him.

There is no doubt that he is a very different type of player to what we have though. If SD thinks he is right for us, he has earned my trust and proven my opinion wrong enough times for me to back the lad if he comes.

Almost 330 Premier League appearances though and, his first few apart, at two decent clubs.

Still well thought of by many of the Everton fans I know. Calibre of player we could only have dreamed of until recently.

Sean spoke-up in the national media on Lennon's behalf - talking about he pressure on modern players - when the story of his illness broke earlier this year.

Not that it's of any great relevance but his uncle, Don Lennon, the athletics coach, is still locally based - Accrington area maybe?

Nothing concrete there but if he's looking for a supportive environment with local family links that might be important to him.
