Dean Holdsworth has resigned as a director at Bolton Wanderers after his company went into liquidation.
They are yet to win a game this season and look like they are in for dropping back down.

Good point.
Those that get hot under the collar about whether we should pay £10m or £15m for a player, or think we need an international world-beater to be our fourth choice centre back should understand that we are highly privileged to have those discussions.
Lets hope the next generation of this Clubs board are as diligent as those in charge now

I just knew it was about Bolton when I saw the thread title. To be honest, I'm dreading 2023 onwards given we now know what's coming.
I wonder which ex-Claret will be our knight in shining armour with no money.

If we keep on buying players like Walters, we will be in trouble. Our job now is to identify good, young talent, and try to develop as many as possible.

Or (and here's a thought), trust those that have got us to this fantastic position, to buy the right mix of youth and experience to keep us in the Prem and therefore, keep the money rolling in.

If we only bought players aged 30plus then I'd get your point, but we don't so don't quite get where you're coming from.

I'm just saying, too many players on the down sides of their careers is not a good thing. That's what got us into trouble with John Bond. I really question the value of Walters. Didn't he get pulled off during the first half against Woevers? And he's on a 2-year contract.

Aye he did. He got cruched in a tackle and still carried on til he couldn't run anymore. Called commitment

Coyle said they were 10 years ahead of us in 2010, so in 2020 we'll see if his prediction comes true.

And Paul Gascoigne reckoned he only got an half time slice of orange at Spurs.

You have posted some really weird stuff in the last week OC. Are you going through the menapours ?
I know you are a few thousand miles away but rather than make stuff up just so you can have a go at Dyche why would you just not read the Blackburn match report which clearly explains Walters went off injured ?

Just being a bit lazy, I guess. I admit that I didn't read Tony's full report on the B****** game. Was more concerned about Woever riffraff running onto the pitch, and our players not being protected by so-called security. That's the problem with being so far away. You don't get every detail sometime. I will endeavour to do better in the future. UTC!!!

Cabin fever hasn't struck yet. In fact, it's a glorious almost fall-like day over here without a cloud in the sky. I'm also celebrating Denmark's 4-0 thrashing of Poland yesterday, although I wasn't able to get it live over here.

Since the ten years in front of us statement Bolton have been much better than us at
1) amassing debt we've never even remotely matched their debt
2)sacking managers- again streets ahead
3) selling off assets- we built a training complex- they sold theirs
4) court appearances

This quote reputedly ended Rodney Marsh's international career long before Paul Gascoigne.
Alf Ramsey told Marsh that he would pull him off at half time.
