It would be hilarious if he goes to Hudds on loan

A lad at work reckons Leeds are interested. Dunno if there's any truth in it.

Imagine we'd have as good a chance as Huddersfield.

He's going to need and want to be first choice.

He'd get that in the championship, probably not with us though.

Heard a few reports that we were in for him on loan and pretty much deal done before his last big injury. Here's hoping we're back in the frame.

Good banter by Burnley when we sign Wells and Hudd sign Ings and Brighton sign Andone.

"I hope we're back in the frame"? Ings has been and gone. We've just as good if not better at the club. Move on.

So you'd rather have Nakhi Wells over Danny Ings?

He is a speed merchant, and he'd be relatively cheap. So the question is not so much "why?" as "why not?"

If he's anywhere approaching the Ings of 13-14 (it's a great trip down memory lane watching the season highlights in YouTube) then we'd be silly not to even consider a loan.

I hope he's not the Ings of 15/16 or 16/17. We'd need another player on the pitch to push his wheelchair.

For me it would have to be a loan that we can cancel without penalty once his next knee injury kicks in.

I agree it's a gamble, but you have to hope for the best in these situations!

Ideally we'd like someone who hasn't been seriously injured already, but at this late stage we can't be too picky.

hell we shouldn't be waiting until the last minute to bring in some pace, but there it is.

People getting their knickers in a twist about injuries to players that haven't occurred but will take a player with a seriously bad injury record.

The big question could be how did Liverpool feel Flanagans loan went?
Did he benefit from being here despite not getting much game time.

Don't need to move on. He went to a top 6 club because he has the calibre. Having suffered through some injuries chances for him to get back to those levels could lie elsewhere and we can't ignore he could improve our 11 - certainly the squad. I'm interested to know who in our current crop could play in the hole better than Ings.

If Ings is available we should certainly be in for him. He is exactly what we need. If he goes to Huddersfield or a championship club it will be an absolute disgrace and will be gutting. Especially if our alternative is nakhi wells.

I'd take Ings over pretty much every available striker out there. He was superb in our PL season with him. Every bit a PL player, and a Dyche work rate. Up with Defour, 2 of the most talented Burnley players I have ever seen. Yes, injuries may be an issue, but surely worth a gamble. There's a serious chance he could be fit, ready to go, and hit double figures for us. Those that think otherwise must either have a damn short memory, or think every injury is beyond repair...

Is Sanchez technically available requesting a transfer? I'd take him...

Because we need to be signing every player we are linked with who has the universal backing of the majority of posters on this board. Anything else is a failure.

How many goals would Ings score? I suspect 6 to 8.

I would say we could expect the same from Wells.

sentiment creeping in and clouding judgements. He was here, he was ok, he wanted a move, he got it, then his leg went again.
No thanks.

Sentiment or good memory? Did you not want him to stay...?

Ings moved on to bigger better things....returning here would be negative. Alternatively, this would be Wells big chance....much to proved especially to some on this forum.

I'd sooner take a chance on the new blood.

I didnt. He had his head turned way before he left. Was playing for himself not us. Hence ducking that penalty and not wanting to tarnish his rep. Didnt have the head to take it. And then picked up form after we went down. He was crap in the middle bit when the going was tough.

I would indeed.

Ings sulked when he didnt get his january move. It was obvious from his body language. Dyche even said himself he shouldnt have played against sunderland as his head wasnt with burnley. A massive 6 pointer.

Later in the season our last chance to save ourselves our main striker and penalty taker refused the oppprtunity to win us the game in the 6 pointer with leicester. The rest was history.

He did nothing from january (apart from turning up at old trafford on the big stage) until our season was over and got himself a couple of consolation winners at relegated hull and an awdul villa side.

Played purely for ings and ings alone.

Add 4 dodgy knees and its a waste of a loan!

Ings hadnt scored for a while so he had the chance to take a penalty. He didnt, then as stated went on to score when we were down no pressure there then.i think im correct in saying he converted a penalty for liverpool. The leicester game left a sour taste in my mouth im afraid.

I agree with all of that apart from the ok bit. He was certainly a cut above ok.

Ings on loan would be amazing. I know Dyche isn't a big fan of loan players but he knows Ings and he knows he will get 100%.

People ask why would Ings come back to Burnley after making his big move - at the end of the day he's still a Liverpool player, he needs games, and Liverpool need him to have games. It'll be a good move for Ings / Burnley and Liverpool.

Lets get it over line before the window slams shut

It's certainly feasible. He has links to the area and it's within commuting distance. Would link midfield with attack very nicely.

It's not just goals though is it. A fit Ings on loan would be the nr 10 our new system needs. It is a no brainer surely.
