Just thought, to avoid too many threads, it's worth having one thread to discuss deals and potential deals elsewhere.

Just picked up

Swansea accepted offer for Llorente from Spurs
Leicester have turned down another offer for Gray from Bournemouth

They are suddenly going all striker - Spurs will do well to get that for him.

£23m for Jansson just shows how we had our pants pulled down on Keane.

Sold at the first opportunity, rather than let the transfer window pan out and benefit from the rise in the market.

Schoolboys, as ever.

Pulis thinks he can convert him to a centre back. Then a full back.

Llorente going to Chelsea, not Spurs. This will surely influence the Janssen deal.

Going to be a battle to get him with those two both keen. Spurs ahead apparently because they've had an offer accepted.

He's not the only person to think we could have got more for Keane than we did. Although I do think the way we treated the player, and the manner of our business means we are still an attractive club for young players to come to, and for other clubs to deal with. Money isn't everything...

With the way this transfer window developed, we could have easily got £40-50m for Keane, regardless of contract situation of our own making.

I can make stuff up on a minute to minute basis as well if it will help the board.

If that's the case, how come Man City have only bid £50 million for Sanchez? (Last year of his contract)

We did well to get what we got to be honest. One year remaining on his contract and no enquiries from any other club.

It was clear at the end that Man U. weren't interested.

Considering he's a world class player, very much in demand, the circumstances are somewhat different from Keane.

Where was the interest for Keane, aside from Everton? Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs & Man U. didn't seem that bothered.

Keep him then, don't sell him at half market value.

Not as though we've replaced him with better is it? We haven't even replaced him full stop.

We replaced him with Tark ........ Now we need to replace Tark, not Keane as people keep thinking we need to.

You don't replace someone who's still here. you replace the person who's left.

I'm sure there would be more clubs interested now if we'd kept hold of him, given that they all seem to be trying to sign Jonny Evans.

Or you promote someone still at the club and replace their role ........

Which we have done..... And now need to replace the backup role.

Keeping Keane wasn't really an option in the end, he wanted to move and I don't see much sense in keeping an unsettled player.

There was only Everton interested in Keano.
I understand Man United couldn't believe what his agent was asking so were never in. No-one else enquired so we got a pretty good deal.

To answer that: Stephens was so unsettled he has signed a four year deal at Brighton. Keane wanted to leave Burnley.

Not sure how this thread has become a Keane discussion - it's about transfer deadline news for other clubs.

Seems odd, usually both parties know what each other is doing once fee is agreed.

Possibly a late bid by another me thinks.

Not overly excessive in today's crazy market. I like him, good close control, holds the ball up well. I'd love him at Burnley. Clever player.

Seems like Bony wants to go to Italy, and has turned Swansea down. Maybe there was truth in the £8m bid for Barnes?
