If Wood & Vokes get injured
If Wood & Vokes get injured
Where would that leave us?
For all the downbeat comments about Tarkowski & Mee getting crocked what about the same scenario up front?
It'll mean we have Barnes & Walters leading the line against established PL defenders till January and SD was willing to let Barnes go.
We can't cover every position and we can't presume our players are going to get injured either.
We are in a good position, and likely to remain so throughout the season.

Re: If Wood & Vokes get injured
Wtf are you going on about. What if ward gets injured. We only have Taylor, mee, jbg, and Brady that could do a job at left back. We would be in a right mess. Not.
Re: If Wood & Vokes get injured
What a bizarre post.
Re: If Wood & Vokes get injured
The point is, Tarkowski & Mee are no more likely to get injuried than anyone else.summitclaret wrote:Wtf are you going on about. What if ward gets injured. We only have Taylor, mee, jbg, and Brady that could do a job at left back. We would be in a right mess. Not.
If they get injuries, yes, we'll be weakened. But if we lose our strikers we'll be weakened, but for some reason there seems to be far more concern over losing our defenders than anyone else.

What if a meteor strike takes out Turf Moor? Criminal of the Board not to have a back-up ground in place...

We are playing 4-5-1
5 strikers for 1 position
3 centre halves for 2 positions

Re: If Wood & Vokes get injured
I think the fact we're playing 4-5-1, comes into this. The chances of them both getting injured is less than both Mee and Tarky getting injured, which is what it boils down to.Spijed wrote:but for some reason there seems to be far more concern over losing our defenders than anyone else.

Re: If Wood & Vokes get injured
Eh. 5 strikers for 1/2 positions and 3 cbs for 2 positions.
Re: If Wood & Vokes get injured
That's my point. We've got to trust in what SD is doing and not panic, yet for some reason too many think that Tarkowski and Mee are likely to get injured.Blakesheaven wrote:What if a meteor strike takes out Turf Moor? Criminal of the Board not to have a back-up ground in place...
Whereas, if we get injuries elsewhere on the pitch, especially up front, that will have just as much impact.

Re: If Wood & Vokes get injured
If we lose Vokes for 4 weeks, we replace him with Wood. If we lose Tarky for 4 weeks, we need to play Mee and Long, which is weaker per position, than Wood upfront on his own.

You are not thinking this through right. Also defenders are more likely to get suspeneed.

Re: If Wood & Vokes get injured
If Wood and Vokes get injured we can play 4-5-1, or even 4-6-0, or 4-4-1, or still 4-4-2 as you have stated we still have the man power to do so.
If Tarkowski and Mee get injured we're playing with one CB and 3 full backs as a back 4. It's a completely different scenario.

Some will take every opportunity to have a go at the club.
Shocking, just let it go.

Wood has been released early from international duty . Not needed for second leg . Did his job yesterday so he will be back in training next week . Good news for us

Re: If Wood & Vokes get injured
Again, some are saying Charlie Taylor isn't up to the job at centre half. Yet is Barnes good enough on his own up front, for example?duncandisorderly wrote:If Wood and Vokes get injured we can play 4-5-1, or even 4-6-0, or 4-4-1, or still 4-4-2 as you have stated we still have the man power to do so.

Re: If Wood & Vokes get injured
It really is this simple: we have five first team strikers and only three first team centre backs, one of whom has barely ever had a kick for us in 8 years.
We also only play with one striker at the moment but play with two centre backs. I know daft questions are the order of the day but this one really didn't need asking.

Re: If Wood & Vokes get injured
Point is we have excellant cover with specialists for every position except right side midfield, which is a relatively minor issue compared to the gaping hole at centre back.

And yet SD doesn't think there is a gaping hole.summitclaret wrote:Point is we have excellant cover with specialists for every position except right side midfield, which is a relatively minor issue compared to the gaping hole at centre back.

And if the boss was willing to let Barnes go, surely he'd have gone... there was apparently plenty of interest.

Re: If Wood & Vokes get injured
It's not just me mate. If people are being honest, deep down I think most are concerned. Most are willing trust the Board/manager and I can see why. I can't forget sod's law with Marney, so I am not in that camp on this particular issue.
I think it will emerge over time that we put our hopes on Dawson or Shawcross, but failed to see that their agents were using us. In other words I don't believe that Sean is actually happy with only 3cbs. Hopefully we will get the right man in Jan. Let''s hope sod's law is not in before then.

Re: If Wood & Vokes get injured
If anything, the fact that anyone could express concern over Barnes and Walters as our front two if Wood and Vokes both end up injured - a pair with 200 plus top flight games and 50 plus top flight goals - emphasises the concern about our options at centre back if we end up with two injuries to first choice players.
To suggest the opposite is just wierd.

Re: If Wood & Vokes get injured
Spice makes a good point re Sean's views. Of course he will say he is happy with what has got to try to get the price down for a player.

What if the whole team contract measles?
What if Sean Dyches dies choking on a grape?
What if Turf Moor is hit by a meteorite?
