He never quite made it, did he ? Don't get me wrong, he's probably had a lucrative and enjoyable career but he certainly looked destined for even more. His move to WBA put the mockers on that.
Good luck to the lad.

Was disappointed when Chaplow left to go to WBA. He was our best player at the time with great potential, local lad and a claret by birth

Best player at the time? Really?

Haha, a good story but you can often tell when the person selecting the image doesn't work with the person writing the article.
He was an 'ok' footballer. Decent for us at the time, but would be nowhere near our side now.

I remembering chatting to him in Ignite when he was with us. I agree, he came across as a decent guy but it was only for 5 minutes.

There's only one prick on this thread for all to see and it is certainly not who the article about. Turning your life around from tragedy is a positive and this will be an inspiration to others.

As proffered when you made a similar claim about Chris Boden the other day, I'd vouch that he'd be a lot further down the prick list than you.

It's never nice that somebody loses a child.
Chaplow himself is (or at least was) a prick though - too many stories of him being a prick to reel off but the one that sticks in my mind is him not taking no as an answer trying to chat up my mates sister who repeatedly told him she wasnt interested and had a partener - then followed up with "Do you even know who I am? You'll regret this"
Even in the article it says about him giving another player abuse about being gay.
As Cutsy said earlier - wont be the only person thinking this way.

I think there's something about being a bigger person, and there being a time and a place. A topic about someone losing a kid isnt that place imo

I despair of some of our fans that could write such posts when they have not even read the article. My heart goes out to Chappie and the family....to go through something like that is every parents nightmare.
My own mother went through similar but the difference being my brother was actually born but passed away 3 days later.
Anyone taking the opportunity on this thread to give him **** should hang their heads in shame....

This was all at least twelve years ago when he was a kid. I imagine he's done a lot of growing up, especially with what happened.

The Chaplow we knew was exactly that years ago around town. Arrogant and cocky and deservedly got a good hiding too. Plenty of rumours of him pushing himself on girls and also again a friend of my sister. For that no matter the current circumstance hes a prick, claret or not

Wow...and you never did anything wrong in your youth when, possibly, you were thrust into a situation you didn't know how best to handle...salt of the earth you eh? Ok, so when he was younger that may have been but does that give you the right to come on a thread that is highlighting probably the worst thing to happen to a parent and be a prick about it....

I bet we've all been pricks when we were kids. Thankfully, most of us grow out of it. What's your excuse, Cutsy123?

Exactly TractorFace, we've all been there as young lads...thinking we are the lad after a few beers...Chaplow, I didn't know, but as a young lad who broke into football at a young age in a small town probably thought he was the bees knees...
Cutsy probably got turned down every time to make him so bitter that he comes on a thread like this and speak like he is...
If any relatives of Richard are reading this, my heart goes out to him and the family, we have been through this and understand what he went through. Good luck to the lad!

Burnley Express gossip column
-unamed shiny burnley player has had a few too many and come on to a chaps sister who's spoken for, in a cocky way.
Come on , it's hardly Rooney behaviour is it.
If he's a prick for that then God help us all.

You put a article on about an x player and the issues he and his family has had,and another post goes to shite.
It's getting pathetic.
Hang your heads in shame.

Cutsy - suggest you read the article. Hopefully you will then realise that your comments are at best ill timed and not appropriate for this thread.
Maybe you will apologise but I doubt it - you posted some pretty grade A pr-ick stuff on the board previously.
