The spine of our first choice 11.

Post by RingoMcCartney » Mon Sep 04, 2017 2:15 pm

I know we have had players who've been in the spine of the team, who are arguably better than individuals who make up the current spine. But. As a spine playing TOGETHER. I think the current one is as strong as I can remember for a long long time.

As we all know all great teams have a strong spine. Can anybody think of a better one?

Heaton

Mee Tarks

Defour Cork

Vokes / Wood

It's a good en!

Marney and Jones over Defour and Cork?

Not for me.

The Vokes / ings is a fair shout though.....

I was going to follow this up with a fishing rod, but then I started to believe in my own troll with Vokes & Ings up front

I think you can debate whether weve been stronger up front, and we've probably been stronger (last season) at centre half, but i think we're stronger in the centre of midfield than weve ever been in the Premier League. The trio of Cork, Defour and Hendrick seems to me to have a bit of everything.

Agree on the centre half and the midfield is an upgrade on last season for sure. But overall the 17/18 spine edges , or more accurately, will go on to edge, last seasons.

A bench with Barnes, Walters, Wells, Airfield and, from what I've seen of, Taylor is a strong bench too.

It looks like we won't be playing 4-4-2 so it's hard to compare Vings vs Vokes and Wood. Midfield I think is obviously better now than it was.

Yeah the 4-4-2, that's a fair point.

The spine is the whole team on current form. They are all working their socks off. This is the best team for a long time.
You could call it "spineless"

There's a term for a whole team working their socks off.

The Sean Dyche Way.
