Arthritic Knee and a claret? Me too

I'm thinking of setting up a messageboard for Clarets fans who have arthritic knees.
Greater understanding is needed in order to help the sufferers of this disease.
If we could get able bodied fans to appreciate that when they jump up for a goal or an exciting point in a game the person behind may not be able to react quite as quickly and with a little more thought they could jump more slowly to allow us to catch up.
As our affliction is not obvious to most it would help if we could have a badge to allow us to get preference at the urinals and avoid the pain of being pushed and shoved about. Perhaps the club could offer us our own area?
These and many more examples could be discussed in our very own messageboard.
If this is successful I would intend setting up messageboards to help baldies, fatties and those with high blood pressure.

Oh shut up.
Maybe when people with arthritic knees are sent to a concentration camp just because of their knees
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world ... 77901.html
Or blown up for having an arthritic knee
http://metro.co.uk/2017/04/30/deadly-na ... n-6606700/
Or beaten up for having an arthritic knee
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/magazine-4 ... n-brighton
Or are denied a room in a B&B simply because the owners are disgusted by arthritic knees
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2011/ ... -hoteliers
Than maybe you'll have a point.

I think you'll find that disabled people were sent to concentration camps for being disabled in WWII by the Nazi B'stards......

If you think that all B&B rooms are accessible to people with arthritic knees, then you've clearly not got one and not known anyone that has. You might be surprised by the number of B&Bs that don't have lifts.
(Anyway, the gay element of that hotel case was pretty much a red herring. The hoteliers tried to exclude all unmarried couples, and did not discriminate at all between male-male and male-female pairs. But still, tolerance is something that some people can only demand and will not under any circumstance give back.)

And are beaten up and abused for it
and judging by posts on this board should not be allowed into grounds that don't have facilities for them, nor should clubs have to spend money on facilities for them

Perhaps there is an initiative here for the club shop?
Periscopes, like those that used to be available at big golf events, would eliminate the need to stand up to celebrate a goal and colostomy pouches (in the club's colours) could be available to avoid being man-handled by desperados during visits to the khazi (unlimited use during matchdays).

This was before gay marriage was a thing, though, wasn't it? So they were still (illegally) discriminating.
You seem to be suggesting that we should tolerate other people's intolerance - that's not really what tolerance means.

Tolerance is what Tim Farron did, not actively supporting gay marriage which he didn't agree with, but allowing people to get on with their own lives in their own way. Intolerance is what the people who hounded him out showed, because they don't believe in tolerance.

It's not even about 'tolerance'
Tolerance suggests that you don't like it, but you'll tolerate it.
Acceptance is far better.
Accept that sometimes men love men, or women love women, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Farron chose to resign (as opposed to being "hounded out") and his voting record suggests he wouldn't have allowed gay people to get on with their own lives in their own way, if he had his way, so he's not all that tolerant himself. I'm sure he paid plenty of lip service to the idea of gay rights but, in his own words, “What counts is your actions and your beliefs in politics.”

There are practical needs for people with these joint conditions. People are impatient in the stands and the toilets but they can't see that you have a condition that might make you different. Just as much right to setup a separate group as any other fan. Personally I prefer if there aren't sub groups and other fans try and be considerate without you having to label yourself to make a statement. No doubt the sensitive liberals will be along soon.

I'm not sure there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.....because if EVERYBODY had been born gay way back when then that would be the end of the human race, nobody would be having any children and the human race would have died off.....Obviously that wouldn't happen in modern times because people would use IVF....

But the wording was 'sometimes men love men and women love women' nowhere has anyone else said that everyone should be gay.
Can you imagine if everyone in the world was able or willing to reproduce? We'd be in an even more horrendous state when it comes to overpopulation!

Yes the wording was sometimes.....but I'm saying all......For example if all animals on the planet overnight turned gay and would only get together with the same sex.....it would be considered that there was something wrong with it.....

Tolerance or acceptance.
Tolerance is where you disagree with someone's views but allow them to express them. ie someone who doesn't like the idea of homosexuality but doesn't try to discriminate against homosexuals.
Acceptance - where someone accepts homosexuality as a normal and acceptable part of society regardless of their own sexuality.
Do people want tolerance or acceptance.
We have this modern trend to misapply the English language.
Intolerance is shown with how the Far right treat people of a different colour or where ant neo nazi groups treat Neo Nazi groups - some intolerance is deemed acceptable - intolerance of terrorism.

Just heard that the club are budgeting for gender neutral toilets for each of the four concourses during the close season. The exception being that for away fans, where it's expected of the ******* to tolerate each other's leaning under the commonality of being fans of the same club

It's threads like this that demonstrate why a different supporters club is a good idea.
If you're mocking the desire to want to set up a supporters club then I do fear your brain may explode if confronted with someone that doesn't conform to your ideas of sexuality.

Probably going to need different supporters clubs for the tea drinkers and coffee drinkers as well.
There'll be bloodshed if them two factions travel to away games on the same coach.

With all respect to, and especially those who have ST in Bob Lord stand, isn't the Bob Lord where all arthritic knee suffers sit - with tartan blankets across their knees.
Good chance I'll be joining you one day, meanwhile I'm happy to welcome Burnley's own LGBTQ+ supporters group.

Paul Waine so you think it is acceptable to make fun at arthritic suffererers expense do you ? You are normally the first to jump down people's throats for making fun of or light of minority groups or people with afflictions. Double standards. Arthritis is damn painful for those that have it.

It is inferred by mentioning tartan blankets across knees. It is widely known that many of our elderly supporters sit in the Bob Lord stand. It isn't just the elderly that suffer from this but this is implied in Paul Waine s post. He also makes light of the illness. Double standards when he appears so sensitive on 'offensive' comments.

Hi Blackrod, no, I do not think it is acceptable to make fun at arthritic sufferers. I do feel the "hostile" responses by some to the suggestions that Burnley FC set up LGBTQ+ supporters group deserve a "robust" response.
I know arthritis is painful. I know it's a disease that can afflict younger generations as well as older generations.
I hope you will allow me to join you in the 65 and over group in a year's time - with my "claret and blue" tartan blanket.

Hi dsr, is "cultural appropriation" classed as "racist?" I can't keep up. I guess I must claim heritage from one (or more) of these groups that created "tartan" or "plaid" - or something with a different name but the same design.
I'm trying to get my head around how anyone can be "half as clever as you think you are" and "twice as clever as you really are."
So, assume I think I've got IX (not IQ, a different scale) of 100 (for sake or discussion), but my real IX is 50 (half of 100), how can I also be "twice as clever" as IX of 50 - doesn't this put be back at 100?
it's late. I'm tired. I'll take this conundrum to bed with me.
Have a good night.
