Just watched the latest Turf More episode on Clarets Player.

Woan said that Defour wasn't out of favour but that he wasn't fit enough and needed to get to the "next level", the " level we demand" (Dyche fit?).

He also said that Defour needed a full pre season with us and has took everything on board that was asked of him.

It's certainly showed.

Defour is a class act and I hope he plays in whatever formation we use. His all round game has been at a high level so far and whenever he gets the ball you feel something creative is going to happen. Ian Woan's words show that every Burnley player, no matter what their reputation, has to adhere to the team requirements and ethic set by the management. Defour's response this season shows not just how strong he is but how strong the management is too.

I love this, it's all about the team, not the individual!

One of the most technically gifted players I've seen in years at Burnley.

There's a few of them up at the top of the Longside working on match days. Paul Robinson was up there once Nick Pope had become sub keeper last season. Also Michael Jolley, then u23 coach, Andy Farrell and others.

Did you pick up on the comments about them knowing that there were people criticising the late subs?

Definitely one of the most skilful players I've ever seen on the Turf.
Will also benefit (as some have already remarked) with the gaffer bringing in Jack Cork,
who is a great partner in the middle.

Best midfield we've had for a long time.

Best in half of our supporters' (me included) entire lifetime.

Yes I did.

We've more options this season if we want to change it.

The manager has said that he likes to play two up front but knows that we need and now have the players to play different systems.

And a lot of that is down to Cork signing and Defour finally coming to the table.

There must be some Burnley fans who're a tad annoyed that he's still here and turning in good performances.

It's the chasing, work rate and getting back into position when we don't have the ball that has been impressive so far. We all know how good of a footballer he is with the ball.

Rightly or wrongly a lot of folk (me included) can sometimes think of foreign players as sulky soft lazy mercenaries.

It's early days in the season but Defour has showed the character and determination that he can be proud of.

To soon to judge he as only played 3 games.

Talented player though and is a joy to watch when he is firing on all cylinders.

Is fitness is a big issue and only time will tell
