Arfield? Or do we leave Arfield central and play Walters for Guddy?

It was a lot easier when it was Boyd, Marney, Jones and Arfield every week.

?? How can Arfield come in when he already played the last game? Surely the same starting line up as Spurs?

I'd leave him out, I can't recall seeing him really earn a place in the team.. terribly overrated, although I'm more worried about a shite song for Wood that they are planning to sing.

Personally I think JBG has been our weakest player so far this season. Arfield was great against both Blackburn and Spurs so, for me, Hendrick (if fit) should come in for JBG and Arfield be pushed wide.

I'd stick with him. He deserves a run in the side after injury cut short the promise he was showing.

I don't think that he's a bad player but he was quite poor against Spurs.

I can't see Hendrick being fit enough, so if Guddy is being left out I'd go with Arfield central and Walters wide (ish) if it's 4-5-1.

Wood up front though.

Never thought he was good enough for this level. Went Spurs and Scotty was the nuts, so I would play him and leave Jbg on the bench

He's never had a long enough run in the side, however I really rate him and we should persevere with him, he seems only injury prone at Burnley. Even though he has (last season) still provided some cracking performances like Palace. He's also performed very well for Iceland.

I honestly don't think we have seen anywhere near the best for us yet.

not sure why everyone is slagging off Gudmundsson. He works his socks off and is an intelligent player....think he's going to get better and better.

JBG is a class act.he posses a great range of passing and assists.Who can forget last season's great exchange with Barnsey that led to the winning goal v Palace
He also a much better tackler than Scott

For some strange reason there always has to be at least one target. It really baffles me.

I don't get the reference to JBG being 'injury prone' at all.
He suffered an injury last season as the result of a shocking challenge against Lincoln.

Not everyone is slagging him off.

He's not consistent enough but that doesn't mean it's his fault necessarily. He needs game time and a system that suits him. At the moment he has to be on the bench for me.

He seems to have taken the pressure off Tark on here. Arfield seems to have taken on 'superman' status in comparison to pre Rovers match comments.

Gud just needs a decent game or two and the confidence will come back.

Like most players, I think he needs a run of games to show what he can really do.

Not consistent enough, three games in, I give up.

He had a slowish start last season but his quality soon started to show. It was also against Palace last year when he got a goal and assist. Fancy him to have a stormer tomorrow.

Definite starter. Sean won't want to change the shape. Arfield to continue in the Hendrick role, Walters will only make the bench on his comeback. The team is better set-up to suit his style now so given a run of games think we'll start to see his full potential. Last season badly disrupted by injuries and the more rigid 4-4-2 didn't always maximise his attacking threat.

I was worried for a second there we'd run out of people to criticise. What with Tarks great start to the season (despite not being good enough on the back of a tiny amount of actual games), and Arfields performance at Rovers now meaning he is off the hit list.

Come on, we've seen enough of Arfield in the Premier League to know Gudmundsson is a better option, surely? Especially against a bottom six side at home.

Not a Gudmundsson fan but like other posts have said, you can't change a winning side. The lad really needs a fair crack of the whip, he never got going last season. **** or bust season for him. If he doesn't show something this season, I would ship him out next summer

Couple of bizarre comments but for what it's worth I'd play both Arfield and JBG today if Hendrick isn't available.

Gudmundsson, like quite a few of our squad players, is good enough to play a role in the Premier League, but isn't quite good enough to really belong at this level.

Particularly in our 451 system this season, it would help enormously if we had more pace opposite Brady (whose skill set JBG largely replicates, just not quite as well).

But the window has closed and we may not have that (unless the plan is to use Wells there when fit, but as he isnt yet, we can park it). Which means that Arfield, JBG and Walters become the three options wide right for today and you can make a decent case for each (although Arfield may well end up in the middle) . Its an interesting debate, but it shouldnt be seen as all about Gudmundsson - and whoever should start today, each of these 3 will have an important role to play in deepening our squad this season.

Lets hope JBG stays fit-terribly unlucky last year. We need all the players we have available for SD

All I would say about JBG is there are two players-one with sublime skills and one who struggles to get him into the game and gives the ball away

I think JBG is a throwback to old fashioned wingers in his style and on his day delivers a lot for the team. The trick is or him to do the workload expected of him from the way Dyche sets his teams up as well as the creative stuff. He would start in my team today.

Clearly a player that improves after playing regularly. Became excellent last season after a slow start. Shame that we don't have a corresponding fixture today from last season to highlight what he can offer. 100% Dyche will keep him in today.
