Overall I would say palace have a better squad of players by some way. The issue is they are not playing like a team.

Our team is exactly that. We play as one and everyone puts a shift in for the cause. If we had De Boer managing our team we would be in the same state as Palace

Don't have much time for the preening narcissist that is Parish but he loves his club and of course their squad is way better than ours .Apart from maybe Cork and Defour our lot wouldn't get anywhere near their first X1.

A fair point other than Palace don't have a reliable keeper or ANY reliable strikers so I think injuries notwithstanding Tom would walk into their side any day of the week as would any two of our strikers .. Benteke is a liability for Palace

We had this discussion post match yesterday in the pub, IF that Palace squad was Dyched, it would be comfortably top half IMO.

Tom Heaton and the rest of our defence are all better than Palaces. Our reserve left back Taylor looks as good as any of their full backs.

Then there is as you say Cork and Defour....plus Hendrick.

Palace have got the likes of Zaha, Cabaye, Benteke, Townsend etc but fair bit of inconsistency with the likes of Townsend.

I'd say the squads are pretty even - we've beaten them 3 games in a row now

I thought they were miles better than us, second half especially where we rode our luck considerably.

One positive though our Managers reluctance to change our system when we were totally under the cosh and creating nowt wont have gone unnoticed with the Palace hierarchy so when it comes to finally potting De Boer Dyche will have dropped down there list based on that yesterday.

I sincerely hope that Burnley never employ either Parris or Pulis in any capacity, very unlikely in Parrises case I know but nevertheless.

Schlupp looked a real handful yesterday, but I wouldn't swap our back 5 for any of theirs.
Their forward line looks very strong, on paper, but as yesterday shows, it's played on grass not on paper.

Another in the camp that its more even than it first appears. I reckon all our first choice back 5 (although Sakho might complicate the analysis when fit) plus Cork and arguably Brady (for his dead ball delivery) Defour (although he'd be in a straight fight with Cabaye, who is an excellent player at his best) and Hendrick would play for Palace more often than not.

The Palace players may have bigger reputations, but that doesnt mean theyre actually better.

It was also apparent yesterday that we had the stronger bench, certainly in terms of striking options.

I have it as 6 Palace and 5 Burnley, but this team includes Benteke and I think he's a bit of a plank!! However his PL record is better than anyone else in either squad so it's hard to not have him in there. I suspect the football played between that midfield 5 would be a joy to watch!! A very strong back 5 as well.

Not a fan of Parish and you wouldn't want to cross him. He does love his club though. They have some very good individual players but they don't have a better team. Yesterday they were better on the day.

I'm with spice here. We're underselling our team Here. Palace have more flair spread through their squad perhaps but we've got a lot of options to change things too.

Undoubtedly Palace have some quality players. Zaha, Cabaye etc. As mentioned above, they don't play as a team, possibly their names and reputations go before them. My issue with them is consistency. There's not many in that Palace team I'd look at and think. yeah they're going to give us 100% and then some more every time they walk on the field. As a commentator said prior to the game Cabaye has undoubted talent, but will he do the tracking back and the for want of a better word, the dirty side of the game? Not many in that side would do that for me at least consistently.

I am pleased my team is Burnley. 3 points says we contained them and won the match. When we beat most of them at Palarse, they were atrocious. Our players are always consistent.

I take your point Inchy but the words 'by some way' throws it open to debate. Not too many would swap their keeper for Hennessey and their back four is the stuff of nightmares. Tarks has had the better of Benteke twice in a row now.

I suspect he thinks "more expensive" and "better" are the same thing.

FDB is a very good manager and I think it's only a matter of time. They deserved to win yesterday, despite being without Zaha and Sakho. I expect them to finish above us, or very close behind.

They have only gone and sacked De Boer

Bad decision. Especially if Hodgsons the replacement.

Hi jlup, I'm a bit surprised with your back 4. Ben Mee every time for me - even in a straight choice with Sakho. It's not just what Ben does himself, it's also how he enables the best from the other CB. Tarky is playing well because he's got Ben alongside him - and, last season, Michael Keane always was a better player with Ben his partner.

I watched Keane (on MoTD) for Everton v Spurs. He hasn't developed the strength of partnership with Williams, just yet. Spurs got 3 points and Kane 2 goals - in comparison with Mee and Tarky containing Spurs at Wembley 2 weeks earlier.

However, the idea of merging Burnley and Crystal Palace (and Parrish's money) would be an exciting development.

EDIT: Parrish sacks De Boer - best that everyone keeps well clear of Parrish (and other owners) and Crystal Palace. I thought the Palace team did all they could to keep De Boer in the job - seems it didn't impress their chairman.

no it isn't witness how the same two or three clubs challenge for the title every year and the impoverished same four of five at the bottom go up and down like yo-yos and tell me in real terms how it differs ? same as Portugal the smaller clubs have no money due to the size of their population and cannot begin to compete with the three potential title winners ?

If like RDB you are given one of the top jobs such as Ajax or in Spain Barca or Real Madrid then yes I would suggest it is a sight easier than managing Roda JC ...Motherwell .. Elche ... Palace or Burnley ...everything in Holland is stacked in favour of two or three clubs and he managed one of them .

The quality of the league is a different issue ... the also rans here are way above the clubs in Scotland or Holland and nobody can surely dispute that ?
