Made hard work of it, but 4 wins in a row, 3 of them away and 2 against sides expected to challenge. Think we can forget the poor start to the season now..

I seem to remember Mowbray having Coventry top of the league for ages one season - what position did they finish ?

Were always going to be very much in the hunt, and were my pick for champions, strengthened even more so when you kept Mulgrew and Graham.Saxoman wrote:Made hard work of it, but 4 wins in a row, 3 of them away and 2 against sides expected to challenge. That side has too much quality ( cant believe I just said that ) in the right areas to fail in that league. But so did Bolton and Wigan in previous seasons.
Clean sheets will be the key, as you will almost always score. You are set piece kings, them alone will get you 30 points.

Poor league .. the evidence is clear .. Bolton came straight back up with all of their off field problems and look where they are now.
Rovers should finish somewhere in the top six surely ?

I doubt it was 800, but with top of the table football, plenty of wins, home boycott and new grounds to go to they will start taking some very decent followings.Claretforever wrote:Decent following from the Venky Boys I suppose, although looks like an estimate, probably from their fans? New grounds though for many.
I think the home crowds may swell a bit after Xmas too, when they realise they're going up and the fair weather fans return.

Re: Tuesday night Football thread
I would barely call it a boycott. Not in the true sense of the word, as their crowds are basically back to where they once were. Alright, they're inflated a little because of how crowds are announced nowadays, but there or thereabouts.MACCA wrote:I doubt it was 800, but with top of the table football, plenty of wins, home boycott and new grounds to go to they will start taking some very decent followings.

You're right, their fans will return in droves after Xmas if they keep it up, especially with half season tickets. They've got the biggest budget, so if they're not up there it would be a surprise. I wonder if there'll be another embargo come December?
