Leeds Ticket sales seem very low

... even for a League Cup match. Should we have allocated Leeds the whole of the CFS? By doing so would have resulted in more revenue for the club and far less chance of any trouble. They are, after all, not very impressed with us after we bought Taylor and Woods.

Doesn't help I suppose when the club have plugged it all week, heading with tickets being on sale to season ticket holders when they are on general sale.

Said from the word go we should have just given them the full end, get a big a crowd in as possible. Seems crazy to do ourselves out of an extra 2000 Leeds fans paying 20 quid a pop, even though we aren't desperate for the money these days.

This will be my nephews first football match, aged 5. It'll be a shame if it's not even half full with no atmosphere at all (other than from the Leeds fans).

Whilst being completely aware that I don't speak for everyone, I live in Manchester. £20 for a midweek third round League Cup tie just isn't that appealing. Anfield on a Saturday afternoon, however...

Does anybody know how many tickets have been sold in total, so far?

The requirement is 10% and we've given them more than that. If you want to give them more tickets to get in as big a crowd as possible then why stop at the full cricket field end, why not give them the Bob Lord as well if they can fill it?
Not for me, we've given them what they are entitled to and I don't see why we should give them one ticket more.

Bit steep for this game at £20 I think. Should have been £10. I think the club have got carried away because of the 5,000 who went to Ewood.

Yeah it's much better to have a half empty ground and do ourselves out of the extra revenue. Not sure why they couldn't keep prices to 15 quid either. In our current financial position do we really need to try and screw and extra fiver out of people?

They've only charged £15 for season ticket holders and Leeds will have had an input in the prices. Better at home than away though, we'd have probably been paying over £40 at Elland Road.
As for half empty ground. They've been given 2,400 tickets, not an insignificant number. Imagine if the outcry if we'd given them more and then Burnley fans hadn't been able to get tickets.

I think it should have been on general sale from the start
£15 for anyone with season ticket holders £10 right up to the kick of but seats only held to the point as advertised.
I think if we'd have drawn Scunthorpe or the likes that's
How it would have been pitched BUT LEEDS ARE MASSIVE.
Not

Hardly likely that we would sell out for this game though is it? The lack of cash turnstiles for games like this is a massive factor as well. Really feel that it deters hundreds, if not thousands of people going down.

I know that the club have to cover costs, but a tenner for adults and one free under 16 with every adult ticket purchased gives a little back to the fans and generates interest in the young ones. It's supposed to be the town's football club!

We did some fantastic deals in last season's FA Cup. As for this game, do you think Leeds would have accepted your suggestion?

If a lack of a cash turnstile is a massive factor then we might as well just give up. It's not difficult to get tickets is it?

Talking about 'giving a little back to the fans'. How quickly some people forget. How about giving fans free transport to the game at Blackburn? Wasn't that giving something back?

Don't think they've even got 2400. They were putting netting up yesterday on the seats closest to the dividing fence, so I'd guess they've got 2200.

It just seems a shame that with a home draw like Leeds we had the chance to reduce ticket prices and have a great atmosphere in a packed stadium. Instead, there may well be large areas of empty seats in the Burnley sections and our fans being roundly outsung by the Leeds fans. Not very inspiring for our players. Hopefully sales go mad from now on and I am proved wrong.

Well when the Blackburn game was announced.....on here there was talk of boycotting the game etc. but we sold 5,000 so I'd take something's on here with a large pinch of salt. And I don't care what anyone says a lack of cash turnstiles affects games like these.im not sure of the attendance of arsenal mid week but it wasn't full...and people couldn't get in!

Yes but it makes things harder for people. Not everyone lives or works in the Burnley area and is computer literate. For a game such as this where lots of folks are 50/50 the extra hassle of traipsing down to the ticket office or getting to the ground early on the day of the game is enough to deter people. Plus I'm pretty sure games such as this have always been 15 quid in the past, why the need to slap an extra fiver on for non season ticket holders, or season ticket holders who decide to go at the last minute?

We play our 2nd string in cup games so its no surprise at a low gate. Factor in there's not a lot of appetite for lower opposition at home games across the country then 10k would be a decent crowd.

This is also a factor. Dyche has pretty much shown that he couldn't care less about the cups so you can't blame fans for thinking the same way.

If anything, I think it shows that when we play Blackburn, it doesn't matter what cup/competition it is, it's a bigger game than any other - as many said on this board.
This game just isn't as appealing!

It is an appealing game for me but two two-hundred mile round trips via the M6, in two or three days, is pushing it. The 'Udders take priority.

I find it a challenge to get enthused about the League Cup, let alone the particulars of ticket allocations.

I don't think a reduction to £10 would have had much impact on the attendance. It hasn't in recent years when the club has done it.
Will be interesting to see if we look at ticket retailing if we stay at this level - mobile ticketing etc. Would certainly help for the mid-week matches when people can't face the long ticket office queues. It will cost a bit to implement but then fewer people to administrate as much of the process becomes automated. Also gives an opportunity to stop having to create the season ticket cards.

But we don't always play a second team..and lower teams as you put it .. Should get a bigger allocation IMO. When we played Lincoln there was much ridicule on their numbers but they could have sold double.to me it's taking the atmosphere out of the game.old Trafford holds 70.000 and how many tickets do we get? I'd like to go but can't be arsed with the limited ticket situation.Dont tell me Leeds couldn't shift 10.000 tickets.the atmosphere at ground in England is dire.

Leeds would easily have sold the full CFS if given. Would have helped generate a good evening cup tie atmosphere. Can see a similar situation, on a smaller scale, as to what happened at Arsenal with away fans in other parts of ground.
Also should have been cheaper tickets to fill the ground!!

Can't think of a single reason why we'd want 10,000 Leeds fans in our ground.
2,200 is more than enough.

Haven't forgotten anything. It was very good of them to do so, particularly for a game where you had to go by coach anyway. Hardly Southampton though was it?
The broader supporter base would have benefited from my suggestion.

Season tickets could include early round cup games - maybe first 2-3 home fixtures perhaps? Give people a choice when buying their season ticket for say £20 extra, but they then get 3 games?
