Is there anything more frustrating than people who seem to live on their phone - not answering it when you call them.

This gets worse when you call a business during their office hours and no fecker is there to answer a phone apparently. Just tried to call a company to book a physio appointment and been met with no answer for the past 50 minutes. This isnt a small physio company either, it's one that has dedicated receptionists and deals with physios accross the country.

Frustrates me no end!!

I've just been experiencing similar but fortunately I have to go past the place later today so can call in to make an appointment

The receptionist is probably on holiday.

Ours is away at the moment and there's a Mexican stand off when the phone rings.

Its also the same with the tea making duties. I've gone on strike now and I'm only going to make myself a brew.

But when your whole business runs on booking appointments for people - you'd think they'd plan ahead if someone was on holiday

In more ways than one - user is now busy!!! I'd like to think somebody has answered the phone but my guess is it's someone else trying to get through with no luck.

Not as annoying as people who leave you voicemails telling you they've called or when you miss a call, you ring back 2 seconds later and they don't answer

I've had a text off mates in the past saying "call me" which they dont answer ...... That always gets me along with the ones who dont answer when you call right back.

On the subject of phone calls - those people who put the phone down straight after they have said what they need to and dont wait for a response .... They can sod off too.

I have to say that I screen all calls and only answer if I am in the mood even when my best mate calls, even then it is rare that I answer. Usually let it go to voicemail regardless of who it is, my fiancee excepted of course.
It is an annoyance when you call a business though during hours and they don't answer.

You know my daughter then. Unless she needs something of course.

Why the **** do you think you're entitled to their time? If it's important send them a text. If isn't important enough for them to give a **** they'll contact you. If it's not then tough ****. It's their phone and their time, what they do with either is none of your business.

Also, some people don't like talking on the phone.

We took over an office once that had been empty for 2 years. When we plugged phones in they starting ringing. I answered one and somebody gave me a roasting as they'd been ringing for the last 2 years without anyone answering!!

We spend a long time booking in applicants for courses to assessments; we use a mobile amd usually end up with loads not answering but texting back "who's this?", or as we're dealing with youths, "who dis"

I switch my phone on once a week, but that's to read text messages (if any). I don't bother with the missed calls or voicemails.

The wife answers the landline on the rare occasions she's in.

How dare you start a thread about my wife!

She has the knack of ringing me, and if I miss her call by seconds I ring straight back she doesn't answer?
