Would he get in our team now? Off what I've seen so far this season we've got the better deal

Yes he would, you don't lose class which Michael has in abundance, he is just lost with those around him, we did get a fair deal and the way he conducted himself in the dealings was outstandingly professional.

Course he'd get in our team. He is one of the best defenders in the country, he just happens to be playing alongside a group of very poor ones who make him look like a chump.

He was the third best central defender on the pitch today, but a long way better than the fourth best. But he's an outstanding player.

It's good to come out on top in a game that involves players who have just left our club. If Keane were joining us just now, he'd have to bide his time for an opportunity as Tarkowski has for his.

We'd have to switch to 3 at the back to accommodate him and that would be a waste of time because he's already shown he's not ready for that yet

I thought Keane had a good game yesterday. As mentioned above. Being let down by those around him. He is a consummate professional though and conducts himself in the correct manner. Quite astonished to read Everton fans slagging him off. He was the one defender yesterday who didn't look out of place for them.

Keane will always be a this best when Mee plays alongside him.

Mee is worth much more for his organisational , positional and downright brave play

Keane maybe should play without a money belt there’s no substance that all Scousers are robbers!

Was discussing this yesterday morning. Mee is vastly underrated. Tony Gale seems to have picked up on it. It's no coincidence, whoever plays alongside him seems to vastly improve. Keane is a quality player and was again yesterday but you're only as good as the team around you.

He's maybe better than Tarks at this min but for me Tarks mobility and his remarable ability to get his foot in to block are making him indispensable .

BM great lionhearted classic CB and clever too but never an Eng player .He doesn't fit the mould

All 3 are very good.
I think Ben Mee would look like a fish out of water, if he was in that Everton side yesterday instead of Keano. I feel for the lad (Keano), but there's no doubting Everton will turn it around, it's just a matter of time.
Tarks has been the dominant centre half this season, without knocking Ben, he does tend to have moments where you want to watch the match through your fingers. His distribution this year has been even worse than last year, his biggest weakness, and as long as that's the case he will get nowhere near the England squad. Tarks on the other hand could surprise a few.....

Ben Mee is the best English defender going for me. As a footballer? A long way behind a lot. In terms of stature and physique? Also behind. But in terms of fundamental defending ability he's top drawer and if he had the size of Tarks or Keane, or was a top ball player, he'd probably be England's first choice. As it is the areas he's lacking are the areas in vogue so he's overlooked, but that's probably a good thing for us.

I bet Keane is biting his lip. He’s probably desperate to knock on Koeman’s door and talk about framework! :-D

If you watch the start of our coverage on MOTD when he's just stood waiting for the game to start he looks really shaky.
I've been watching him in previuos games for Everton, this season and when he comes out with the ball nobody is showing for it and he's had to just pass it back or sideways and he's been angrily waving his arms at his team mates, it was only later in the game yesterday when they were chasing the game that they pushed up and he brought the ball forward and played some weighted balls.
They are also defending so deep, on the six yard line, so he can't use his pace to effect and the zonal marking from set peices is preventing him from controlling his man.
They are a shambles and he is majorly unhappy, IMO, and strangely I believe that Everton are too regimented, whereas although we have a framework and everyone knows their own job there is also a freedom to play and a natural desire. Our players take responsibility theirs do not.

That mould needs breaking and let some of the lesser lights have a chance with the national side instead of the same old faces

If Keane was still in our team with these results I think he'd be in the England Squad with a chance of a game but I'd be surprised if he's in the squad as things stand.

It can’t be easy for Michael Keane, playing alongside that clunker Ashley Williams. He will probably be scratching his head at the moment and possibly having a few doubts about if he made the right move. He will however come through this as he is still a class player.

Modern Eng players need to be quick, quite skillufull and good against useless opposition and have the ability to bottle it horrifically whenever facing quality teams

The way Ashley Williams is playing right now, it wouldn't matter if Baresi was alongside him.
