amazing goal, pure quality. even everton fans applauded it.
its been a great day, 6th in the table and an incredible away win.
That goal build up was breathtaking, surprisingly even ian wright had to give us credit, albeit it there were only a couple of games today.
Radio was full of it, 606 especially, but inevitably the talk was of us losing sean dyche eventually.
anyway, forget that, the point stands, one of best goals at goodison ever.

It looked liked a team had just out-footballed the opposition and then smacked them in the gonads.

A terrific 24 pass move, like watching Arsenal on top form, Hendricks cool finish was brilliant, a lot of critics do slag us off for the long ball hoof over the top, but that goal will have them eating their own words, fantastic stuff from the lads

It's brilliant. At the time of the goal I had no idea we'd strung so many passes together but I certainly remembered the cross field pass. What did surprise me was the ball Tarky played out to the left in the second half which they showed on the MOTD2 analysis. I just couldn't recall it.

Exactly the same as I saw it.

I'm sure I'm not alone in having watched it many times, but taking the first pass as Lowton's, when he deflects it to Defour, I always come up with 26 passes. You could even be pedantic and say 27, for the way Jeff Hendrick passed it into the back of the net.
Definitely more than 24.

I don't expect us to surpass that this season, but it would be fantastic to see them to continue to have the confidence to throw in these passages of play. There were many glimmers of it against West Brom, but then it seemed to disappear again.

The move was brilliant - it had everything.

Patience, composure, skill, movement, great quality - everything

The long ball by Brady was great - it was a long pass and as mentioned I can't recall any pundits describing the likes of Beckham or Hoddle as long ball players when they were doing this.

The run and cross from Ward was one of many great runs he did on Sunday. He only just reached it.

The header from Wood was excellent - I had to watch it a couple of times to realise how hard it was and that he was deliberately trying to keep possession.

Arfield's pass inside was great and again Ward was alive and full of energy. The pundits picked out the young Everton player for ball watching / being caught on his heels but I'd say this was much more to do with our good play than his mistake.

The finish from Jeff was skilful and calm - again they criticised the Everton player for his challenge and I would have been disappointed if that type of tackle would have come from a burnley player....but at the same time I think the credit has to go to Jeff rather than being too critical of Everton.

Whilst Everton are going through a sticky patch they were not as bad as people are saying. They have some very good players and they caused us problems - just like they caused United plenty of problems at Old Trafford. We beat them because we played very well not because they played badly.

That's what I don't like about pundits in the main looking at negatives.shudda wudda cudda.instead of what a great goal! The great pele and cruyff goals left players on their ar$es and that was the talking point.

Thought Brady's pass was a tad over hit to be honest. Ward had to hit it first time because it was pinging. Still, high bar and all that

Defour makes 5 passes I believe and they each show why we don't want him in a much more advanced role. All 5 demonstrate he sees the bigger picture better than anyone else we have. He gets us up the pitch by playing into more advance positions or spreading it wide to incite the full backs to join in. He also plays it simple when those other opportunities aren't on. Along with the quality of balls from Ward and Brady and neat interlinking play and fluid switching of positions between Arfield and Hendrick this really is amongst the best team goals I've seen Burnley craft. A thing of absolute beauty. The rest each played their part in a great team performance too. I'm in awe of this side.

I'm one who has advocated Defour playing further but in the way he did last season to set up Andre Gray in the home game against Liverpool.
He does seem to see the bigger picture from deep and him making more of those surging runs can be a springboard to many attacking forays

When you see Defour go about his business it is almost like his awareness and vision of what's going on around him on the pitch is similar to what somebody sat watching in the top tier of the stand can see.
An absolute class act no doubt about it.

He picked the ball up in our own half against Liverpool though and carried it because it was th best option on. That's how I saw it anyway - it's been a while now. I believe he'll still do that, in fact, he collects the ball in an almost identical position 2 or 3 times in this latest goal. Playing higher up might actually prevent him from picking the ball up in those positions.
