It's amazing given who we have played. I said when the fixtures came out that we'd be in credit if we had one point from the first five away games.

They keep repeating it from Bradys wonderful crossfield pass and banging on about poor defending.

Sure we all do it, look at the fixture list and think 'points'.
At the start of the season, I'd got us down for 7, up to the leaving Goodison.
Superb stuff away at some really tough away games.
Best part of it is, as it says in the article, we've deserved the points on our travels.

Absolutely, even the one at Wembley because of the way we came back at the them towards the end of the game.

The equaliser v Spurs just about says everything.
What we're about, and what we are as a team just now.
Even my 'very disappointed' Spurs mate at the end, said we deserved the point.

The draw at Wembley was an excellent point.
One or two silly commentators pointed to Cahill's sending off at Chelsea
to try to say our win at Stamford Bridge was a fluke or a one off.

Now, with these marvellous away results keeping on coming,
they can see it's not.

Long may it continue, cos there's nowt to fear for us.

Enjoyed reading that, 24 hours on from punching the air in delight as the final whistle blew. As good an away performance as you could wish to see. And those 24 passes were not just a bunch of tippy-taps around at the back. Defour started it with that great driving run away from the box to the halfway line, Brady's long diagonal pass was weighted perfectly, Ward's clipped cross on the run after getting on the end of that pass was superb, Wood did so well to cushion the resulting header back to Hendrick, then the final link-ups. It was just a sumptuous goal. My son and his wife do coaching with the "Soccer Shots" group on Sunday's, so I recommended that they just show that goal to the kids today and that's perfect football in a nutshell

CT, Billy played for us the last time we won at Everton in midfield. Saw him to talk to just before the 3-1 defeat at Everton last season and although he is a staunch blue he was hoping we would win.

I reckon if we get a win at The Hawthorns later on in the season ,,, woooohhhh I'm just getting giddy now !!!

I hope someone had a word in Ben's shell-like over his non involvement in the build to the goal.

The introduction of our supposedly 4th choice midfielder in Westwood helped massively with the finish of that game.

Superb subs, superb squad and superb finish to a match.

5 minutes longer added time and we would have won it.

Thanks for the match report, which as always makes for very good reading, and even more so for it being a victory and 3 points.

I think the stat about the 4 match unbeaten away run in the top flight during the 1970/71 season is incorrect though. I suspect this may well have been caused by an error in Clarets Chronicles, which incorrectly shows us playing Newcastle United away twice that season. Although it was before I was born ( ), the Newcastle away match took place on 28/11/1970, which we lost 3-1. The match v Newcastle on 30/01/1971 was at home, but is also listed as an away match in the Clarets Chronicles book.

You have to go back to 1966 for a 4 match unbeaten run in the top flight - it was actually a six match run consisting of the last 2 matches of 1965/66, followed by the first 4 matches of 1966/67:
