They're wrong about the subtitling normally being accurate! Not that I'm complaining, because it's not an easy thing to do and it's extremely helpful to the deaf, but there are some quite funny misprints.

There's a lot of fun to be had with the subtitles of live events where the script cant be checked in advance. Trying to work out whats actually been said is a fun game (cricket commentary is especially funny)
You can get some very humorous or rude mis-translations. Rudest one I saw was on a current affairs prog where a guest expert had just said his bit and the host apparently said "thank you vag.n.s" which, after saying Hear Hear, I worked out as a mistake for a slightly rushed "Thank you for joining us".
