England Squad: Should Jack Cork..

Should Jack Cork feel aggrieved that Harry Winks has been called in as a replacement for Fabian Delph?
Southgate seems to favour two deep lying midfielders and one further forward in the Centre of a 4-3-3. Jack Cork could fit in to one of the deep lying roles seamlessly in my opinion.
By my reckoning Hendreson and Dier are Southgates preferred pairing but after that, Livermoore has started two games recently, Delph has only just started to play for City again and Jonjo Shelvey is being touted for a return to the fold. Add to that now Winks who has only played 25 times for Spurs is ahead of Cork in the pecking order, I think he could feel aggrieved that he has been overlooked.
Anyone agree or should I take my Claret tinted specs off?

He's better than Jake Livermore for starters

Be Bloody objective! Winks is a young top talent in a top team, cork is a mid table player getting on in years. Your bias is really sad and not in England's best interests.

They are playing at Wembley - an absolute shoo-in for yet another Spurs to be picked. There must be a few tickets left............

I like Jack - he is another to have blossomed in our system, but not considered good enough in his earlier careers at Chelsea, Southampton or Swansea.

He wasn't a few years back when Lallana, Lambert / Southampton were highly praised so I can't see him being now.
No disrespect to Jack but if he is to play for England it shows how little English talent there is right now.

Has cork even played 10 premier league games for Burnley yet?

Now don't you go worrying he won't make enough appearances to collect a PL winners medal

No but he's played well over 100 Premier League games for Southampton and Swansea.

Prefer it if none of our players were called up....selfish I know but always the chance of injuries.

I think looking at the current England squad that is already apparent.

Yep saw him play decent in europa cup against some team from Shitatfootballikstan.
Then the week after he was dropped again for the real football !
Also saw a bit of him last year for Bournemouth in between fighting, smoking and drinking he managed to get a few minutes from the bench

George Best he definitely ain't !!
He's a good player - but something missing for me.
Horrendous injury record might have impacted the way he plays. He started ok at Bournemouth but was not as good as everyone expected - by Christmas he was on the bench.
Hope he does get back to the player he was - but doubt he will.

Ahh the 90's the last thing barstewards have to cling onto, newsflash they ain't coming back it's history.
that list shows why England were so poor 94 onwards if the best we had to call up were Flowers, Prick Sherwood, Batty, Wilcox and Ripley. Sutton gets a pass from me because of the partnership he had with Shearer but even he wasn't good enough really. how many made a finals squad 2 3 at the most.

Jesus! I got distracted by a Rovers fan asking us if we have a player good enough to play for England, while we have a Belgian International and sit 6th two divisions above them.....Nope I'm not dreaming it.

Cork is better than Dier for starters. England is not based on anything other than pandering to the top clubs. Including their players in the squad is good for business.

He hasn't played that many games, it just feels like that because he's that good.
