Dermot Cooke

Post by Seasideclaret » Mon Oct 09, 2017 11:31 am

A bit of a longshot really - someone has told me that Dermot has passed away. I knew him when he was Secretary at Morecambe Football Club prior to myself taking over, early 1990's. I know he umpired in the Lancashire League, but have lost touch with him over the last few years. If anyone knows any details regarding funeral, I and Morecambe Football Club, would be very grateful. If you could post them on here it would be most helpful. I know its not quite Burnley FC forum stuff, so I hope people will understand, although Dermott did have a connection with the Clarets as his nephew kept goal in the FA Youth Cup Final in 1968

Many Thanks, Neil Marsdin

I would add that Dermot lived in Burnley for most for most of his life, and if my memory serves me correctly lived on Hebrew Street. I think he had been an official at Rossendale and Clitheroe before coming to Morecambe.
