As the title says, I'm looking for a good box set to watch. I've done Lost, Banshee, Prison Break, Game of Thrones and a few others.

I'm into pretty much anything although space/aliens doesn't really do it for me.

I hammer them, so something that has a few series, and keeps you gripped with plenty going on.

Idris Elba got his big break through this one and the other main lead was also an English actor playing an American.

5 seasons, and each season has the same lead police man, but in different parts of the force of city and different stories.
It's brilliantly scripted and acted etc.

It's also worth giving Criminal Minds a try, 12 seasons of it.
About an FBI Behavioural Analysis Unit attempting to solve crimes with psychological profiling etc.

It's a very good watch, although gory in some places.

If you like a bit of comedy then 'Episodes' is good.

Vikings is amazing, I'm obsessed with it!

Walking dead is a bit of fun if you are into zombies

Bloodline on Netflix is absolutely brilliant, leaves you on edge of your seat each episode

Black Sails is another quality series!

Agree - Superb!
Soprano's probably the best - the blueprint for many that came later re music use, inter twinned threads & stories and superbly assembled cast.

Breaking Bad is also good.

Look no further than Breaking Bad.

Boardwalk Empire was very good - 5 series

Mr Mercedes (just finished)
Ozark series 1
Westworld
Line of Duty went mega in the last series but the first few are also a good watch.

Dinky Police Ford Transit and Zodiac Mk4 set? Traffic cones included.

Just finished the US version of The Killing. Excellent.
4 seasons but season 1&2 are a continuous story with a stunning finish. Both finales get 9+ on imdb.
Detectives with personal problems solving a case with political lmplications.
Season 3 separate story with an excellent finish.
Season four only 6 episodes and not that great.

Blacklist, Fargo, Suits and House of Cards are all excellent.

Another massive fan of the Wire here. Brilliant writing and acting. Along with the Sopranos surely the finest pieces of TV ever created? Breaking Bad not in the same league, massively overrated, in my humble opinion of course.

I came to recommend Justified. I'm part way through season 4 and i'm really enjoying it.

The West Wing (What if politicians were perfect?)
Waking the Dead (What if coppers were angry?)
The Newsroom (What if newsrooms were perfect?)
Mr Robot (What if money got deleted?)
Luther (What if coppers were a mess?)
Firefly (What if John Wayne had a space ship?)
House (What if doctors were junkies?)
Battlestar Galactica (What if God was a robot?)

Sons of Anarchy, Season 1 of True Detective, Westworld and The Man In The High Castle. All brilliant IMO.

I was going to recommend Sons of Anarchy but i couldn't think of a way to describe it.

Another awesome series is Mindhunter, am shotgunning it now, fourth episode, utterly compelling

Only 8 episodes but good stuff

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is the greatest comedy show ever created. Unlike literally every single TV show I've ever watched it improves with every season. The first few seasons are decent enough, then Danny DeVito comes in and makes it better, then it gets even better around season 6/7/8, and by season 9-10 it's the most perfect comedy show you've ever seen.

Out of all the one's I've seen True Detective 1 wins hands down,the second one is a complete turd.
My next would be Power,all three seasons are top notch!
Banshee is good also, over the top in probability but good acting nonetheless.

Is that the FBI one where the bloke takes his own head off in the first episode?

True Detective S1 is better that The Wire, The Sopranos. It's up there with GoT. Better than any cop series I've ever seen and probably better than any cop movie I've ever seen bar perhaps Blade Runner.

Honestly, if you've got Netflix or a decent streaming website, watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia from the beginning. If you have a dark sense of humour you won't be disappointed. Grind through the first three seasons if you must to establish the characters. I promise you, it gets better with every season.
