I thought we could use this dull Monday night to have another good laugh at our neighbours. The match thread from the Oldham game has honestly had me in stitches. The fun starts from page 9. Pick out your favourite comment.

I like this one -

4 defeats already, dreadful. 10th position. Playing the way we do. It's just unacceptable.

And already 12 points off the top two (regardless of two games in hand) by mid October is some going.

and another -

Pathetic result. We should be battering teams like this with the squad we have.

Mowbray needs to go now whilst we still have a chance of getting promoted.

My favourite...

12 points off promotion places already ( and only 7 points above relegation !!)

I will not support that club until mowbray is replaced by Johnson and Dunn and our talented academy products are given the deserved chance to save our club from its current path.

They signed players lookig for a pre-retirement payday .... Then played pre season in a formation they dont use in the league

The ones wanting youth players makes me laugh as it was the youth players who lost in their cup game the other week when Mowbray asked (not told) the players who wanted to play the game .... Most of his players said no

I remember a time when Saxoman thought Tony Mowbray was the Lord and Saviour.

You’d have more luck with a Melton Mowbray pork pie in charge.

Though I doubt it would last long with Dunny around

Bloody hell that hasn't taken long has it? Have they learned nothing from all the chopping and changing?
- I've always found Dunn a nice enough chap to talk to but I'm pretty sure I'd never of picked him for a manager.... hope their dreams come true - he'd be a kin disaster on the scale of Bond :-D

Dunn would be assistant to the promising attacking styled Damien Johnson. Being as how they head up the academy u23s and have pleaded with mowbray to use their highly performing players, I feel confident if given the first team job, those players would finally get their chance.

Mowbray is a dinosaur, horrible negative nature about his approach, in a league we should be attacking on the front foot EVERY game.

Who have you got that could do it though?

From what I've heard a lot of your players arent pulling up trees and then you have Whittingham and Graham just picking up a wage. Seems like you lot spent the summer trying to "do a Derby" and get strong players in on paper (for league 1) instead of a solid squad on the pitch.

Whittingham and graham are two examples of exactly our problem. Mowbray persists with these and has no other idea. Have you read a single thing I've said?

With the players and finances they have they won't do better than Mowbray.

Failing that, they need a Cotteril type, but they'll just complain about the standard of football and sack that type off as well. Nobody proven will touch that job now.

They need the mentality of a 'year zero' start again aproach, which would mean that they're only 2 points off the play offs, glass half full and all that.

Thankfully their deluded fans won't allow it.

I have to say I didn't really understand pre-season when everyone was saying Wovers would be favourites, I never for a second thought so.
I don't think it matters who sits in the seat tbh. the club is in such a mess I think SD would struggle to get them playing.
They could bring in the kids, but even then they risk losing their talent very quickly if they look any bit like....
its a great big bloody mess there, very reminiscent I'm sure for many of us of how things used to be here in the run up to Brian Miller being wheeled by in as a last throw of a loaded dice. Its too raw and awful a memory for me to even see THEM going through it.... ok its just a little bit funny.

Just to clarify if they get their wish and sack Mowbrsy are they still trusting Venkies to bring in the next saviour or do they still want Venkies out as well?

When they beat Rochdale a few weeks ago I thought they had nearly won the title? So confusing.

I was unlucky enough to be sharing the train back from Manchester with their away mob. I actually thought they'd won the Champions league.

I have read what you said which is why I asked which players do you have that could do it for you.....?

You played younger lads mixed in against Bury(?) the other week and were apparently shocking. Mowbray did admit that the team had no plan at all though for the game afterwards.

Dack looks uninterested and your defence is shaky - the lad who keeps scoring every few weeks (Antonsen?) is apparently naff bar popping up with a goal here or there - I mentioned Whittigham and Graham as an example to show how deep the problems of the team you assembled are which I'm guessing you agreed with .... Throwing in a couple of youth players might help stabilise it but I cant see them doing too well (being young lads) in a league where you have to battle against opposition .. Having 1 or 2 in there mixed with solid players can work as they will have more time to adjust (which is also why I asked who you havr that could press and put a shift in for the team currently) but throwing in kids in the toxic environment of your first team could do them more damage than good at the minute.

Even if you do put youngsters in and they do brilliant ....... They'll be sold off in Jan and who do you replace them with then.... Catch 22 for you boys at min it seems. It's brilliant to watch from my point of view and it only points to bigger problems going forward whoever the manager is.

They want Venkys out, that's for sure. I think they're expecting Venkys' replacement to carry on subsidising the club to the tune of £7m per year, though. They think that's how it works - come rain or come shine, the owners give the club millions upon millions, year upon year. They've lost all touch with reality, with the idea that they might have to survive without big handouts.

They must have been ecstatic at drawing Barnet at home in the cup,sub 5,000 crowd possible that day,of course if by some fluke they reached round 3, and drew one of the big Premier League teams all the boycotting would be forgotten for one day.

The owners continue to bank roll them, but won't appoint anyone who will tell them what needs to be done to get them back to where they need to be.

Long may it continue, though I think the talk of them failing this season is a tad premature.

hang on Saxo, first of all it was I'm not going on until Allardyce goes, then I'm not going on until Keane goes, then I'm not going on until Shebby goes, then I'm not going on until the Venkys go and now it's I'm not going on until Mowbray is replaced by fatboy and his mate.

I'm noticing a pattern !

Octoberfest at Blackburn. For a package of next 3 home games adult pricing £51 (£48 for a member). £11/game for seniors and everyone else basically free.

They really should be grateful to their benevolent owners, £6.6m last month to keep them afloat and they are still not happy.

"Nice man Tony Mowbray is failing at his job as it stands - 4 losses from 11 league one games is appalling"

How is that appalling? Only a fool would have given them a hope of automatic promotion this season. It was always a stretch for them to reach the play-offs given the general feel around the club. You can't just reverse the downward spiral because you're in a lower league. They're 2 points outside the play-offs with 1 or 2 games in hand on everyone above them. If results go their way they could be third! But yes I think you should sack Mowbray, he's clearly clueless!!

Was never happy back in the day, at the tradition of our PA singling out the Burnley score at half time if you were losing. It striked me as the club being complicit in enjoying Burnley's misfortune, and in turn seemed a bit unprofessional. Do they do the same at turf moor for rovers scores?
