hope this hasn't been posted but he was commenting just how good pope looked compared to Hart last week. Also talked about Tarks, Mee etc etc.
Always liked Jeff Stelling. Great sense of humour.

The best presenter I've ever seen, he's an absolute legend who'll be as enthusiastic about Brechin City as he would talking about manchester city. Its been a pleasure and a privilege to have lived whilst he presents the footy on Soccer Saturday and long may it continue.

I'm glad he like us and supports Hartlepool instead of a big top six EPL team. You can see the looks of puzzlement on the faces of some of the other presenters when he celebrates whenever Hartlepool score. Lowly Hartlepool? And he's cheering? This does not compute! This does not compute!

As a kid, in my sort of generation, you used to write to football clubs to ask for autographs, or any sort of memorabilia, and Burnley were one of the clubs that responded with a lot of stuff and that sways a kid,” he said.
I used to go and watch Burnley whenever they were in the North East so whether it be Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Newcastle, I would always be there.

“It was in the days of some of my favourite players - Frank Casper, Steve Kindon, Dave Thomas, Ralph Coates. I have a lot of good memories of Burnley but, to be honest, I didn’t even know where the town was. I loved the football club

I always liked Luton for some reason when Burnley were in the old first division ....and as we slipped down the leagues they went from
Fourth to first in successive seasons. No and I didn't know where Luton was either!

Ah, but that's how it gets you. Eventually, you turn into your moniker. Before you know it you've become "tim-noone".

The question is; Was Tim Benton Tim Benton before he became "Tim Benton"? (Or whatever his name is!)
