Just seen ex-Rochdale Council Leader on news denying all knowledge of abuse of young boys at Knowle View. He bears a strong resemblance to a young Cyril Smith! Unlucky eh?

I live in Rochdale and nothing good seems to come from the town these days.

Agreed nothing much since Gracie Fields and John Bright - Bill Oddie, Andy Kershaw, the Crystal Meth co-op guy, we really are scraping the barrel. Nowt wrong with Tod though.

Tod is terrible with a decent throwback market.

Son of Rochdale, Andy Kershaw, now lives in the fine Market Town of Todmorden.
As for the Staff of Life, it resides in the village of Lydgate which is part of the township of Todmorden.
I moved to Tod nearly eight years ago. It's a lovely little town.

When I captained Rishton 2nd X1 cricket team you had to agree to stop off at The Staff on the way home after the game at Tod or you didn't get picked.
I think, after witnessing half of their performances, most of the players had stopped there before the match.

The best thing to come out of Rochdale in the last few years has been the Maestro himself, Mr Stuart Smith (rip). although that itself is going back a bit.
