When uv got world class managers available i wouldnt even consider dyche

The usual unfounded 'sense of entitlement' that you see with fans of the 'Big' clubs - Everton are nowhere near my view of what the Top 6 look like...they have under-performed for years...plenty of arrogance and Big Time Charlie stuff among the comments.

There is some real football ignorance on there as well...several of them reckon we just 'park the bus' and play 'kick and rush' - one idiot suggests that a regular dilemma for us is whether we should play 'one brute or two brutes up front'...were they thinking of Jay Rodriguez, Charlie Austin, Danny Ings, Andre Grey, I am not sure..?

Lots of Everton fans, and other fans [including some of our own] think we are defensive..or we 'play defensively'...we park the bus - I don't believe we do.

Credit where it's due - at least half a dozen detailed comments on there from Evertonians who get what sort of club we are, and what we are trying to do.

Dyche is not wanted there though, and if SD read all those comments, it would be of serious assistance to him, in helping him decide what he does next.

Probably..but Wood has only been here 5 minutes, Barnes rarely starts, and Vokes isn't a brute.

I know Everton don't have a CF this season - but wasn't Lukaku a "big unit?" Nothing wrong with a big centre forward. Football is (still) a physical sport.

Were I an Everton fan and didn't really know anything about Sean Dyche then I probably wouldn't want him either.

They have had potential for years but needed to move forward with investment. Their failure to secure a top quality striker to replace Lakaku is why they are where they are and Koeman is the fall guy.

A lot of our fans weren’t happy with Dyche when we appointed him. He’d do a fantastic job at Everton. I just desperately hope he isn’t given the chance he obviously deserves.

Am not sure about the agent stuff simonclaret. If Dyche was offering any encouragement to approach him via his agent at least one of these clubs he's been linked with over the last few years would have then approached our Directors asking at least for permission to Speak to Dyche.

Lets just keep dyche at burnley, he knows bigger prem clubs are not interested in him and he just wants to see our club survive in the prem,hes dedicated to our club and if he does leave, i believe no other manager out there could get as much respect and motivation with our present squad as Dyche, but his style of play wouldnt suit many other teams, but so far its worked for us, lets keep it that way and hopefully we will be playing premiership football for seasons to come

I don't recall us being particularly excited by Dyche's appointment. In fact i can't recall us being particularly excited about any managerial appointment of the last 20 years (except maybe Howe). But we seem to be doing alright.

I'm sure that message board isn't indicictive of most Everton fans but the fact they'd rather give Unsworth a chance over Dyche is truly laughable.

I watch every game and to be honest the football as a spectacle is dire, and was even in the last championship season. It's obviously successful, but that doesn't mean that it is entertaining.

You're correct. That football we played against the champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge first half was unacceptable. Get rid.

Most Everton fans I know are very realistic about where they sit in the scheme of things. Their sense of entitlement is reasonable compared to their Merseyside neighbours although frankly I don't know why Tranmere fans have a chip on their shoulders.

I've read the usual 'we're better than other clubs because we're Evertonian's, the Peoples club' type nonsense on their forum. What is it with the followers of the 'bigger' clubs ? its as though they are somehow more deserving or more loyal than the supporters of clubs they deem to be 'inferior' to themselves.

All things considered, our clubs achievements/ fan base more than holds its own against most of the so called big boys, and that includes the tofffeeesss.

That said, I love going to Liverpool city centre for a few scoops and Goodison is a proper old school ground full of rough ar se scousers, unlike the tourist destination across Stanley park.

He falls beneath their expectations because they appear to have developed an attitude most on here associate with clubs like Leeds. The more you read the quicker you realise how difficult it must have been living in the shadows of their more illustrious neighbours. It has obviously made them bitter, bar the odd fan they have written him off through sheer ignorance.

Quite strange really as most Evertonians I have encountered in real life (not message boards) have been well grounded and knowledgeable. It must be an Internet thing.

I've browsed that forum many times before and I can safely say that (internet) Everton fans are up there with Leicester, Chelsea and Man Utd fans as the most insular and clueless fans about.

They call us 'wools', but I'm not sure if that is a term especially made just for us.

Aye, they do call us 'wools', a bit like we call them 'bin dippers'.

It’s a term for anyone non-scouse. It’s short for woolyback, reference to the coats the dockworkers who came from outside Liverpool used to wear.

Nothing specific to Burnley. They mostly don’t seem to acknowledge anyone other than Liverpool and Man Utd since those are their big rivals
