Very significant result tonight

Post by Hozz » Mon Oct 30, 2017 10:54 pm

Burnley away at Fulham in our championship winning season was a defining point for me, tonight felt the same. I am shocked at the negative nay sayers that come up after each performance and slag Burnley off, the lads, all of them did what was required, just cast you minds back to a few years ago when we would have been bewildered, congrats to SD and his amazing five years with us, we are blessed!

Don't by surprised by negative pillocks on here.

The lads are doing brilliantly. Nearly 1/3 season over and we are 7th. Quality

I think it's significant in that we were getting a little bogged down with our home results.
Maybe we can crack on from here.

Great win. Vital in fact. And important to get back to winning ways at home.

That said looked like both teams went for nil nil hoping to nick one nil.

That was one rugged match tonight, and all our players came away with dignity..well drilled and organised.
Well done Sean and his men..

Benitez is a top manager, don’t forget Newcastle were 7th before kick off! That being said, we edged the game, were more progressive and just about deserved the win.

Big three points ahead of a relatively good run of fixtures for us.

Very true that, it did seem that way but as seems to be happening more often than before we ended up with the 1 which is hugely important.

Something I was thinking about today. If you take the season away he took over, in each of our season's under Dyche I think where we are after 10 games is where we have ended up come the end of the season. I may be wrong but off the top of my head I don't think I'm far off. Maybe the title winning season?

Have to agree that this was an important win irrespective of how we got it.
We're now 8 points off the bottom three which gives us some breathing space.
Having said that we're also 8 points off being 2nd.

I'd like to think that there's more to come but we all know football is a funny game
and things can suddenly go wrong.

Who would have predicted Palace losing their first six and not managing to score?
Come to think of it who would have predicted Burnley having 16 points after 10 games
and 7th in the league?

Hope Sean stays and ends up getting us into the top ten.
Now that would be a very fine achievement and make most claret fans as happy as skylarks
.
