Forever reading this in the press and on here about job opportunities in football management. There are very few jobs in football that wont come up again and I bet anything the Everton one does in the not too distant future.
It's probably the most fertile job market in England I don't know exactly how many positions occur but a quick google shows 18 job opportunities at Everton Leicester CP and Spurs alone in the last 5 years.

I was hoping this was a thread about ba$tards ....

It's not about whether the job will come up again, it's about whether Dyche will be in this potion now to accept it when it does eventually come up again.

His stock is as high as it has ever been, now, logically (without the Burnley specs) is the time to move on (in terms of his own self preservation as a football manager).

If he has a crap 6-12 months with us, no one will look at him for other "bigger" jobs.

It's all ifs, ands or buts, but the fact of the matter is, that's football, it's a career based on "nows" and what/who is "hot" at the moment.

It'll be crap to lose him, of course, but our ethos won't change, the culture won't change, we will bring in someone of similar ilk.

Dyche deserves the Everton job. If he goes, it's about finding someone who deserves the Burnley job.

Yep, it's just a manager merry go round.....! 4 or 5 losses and you're out!
Rinse and repeat.....

Personally think Everton is a poisoned chalice with the classic foreign owner puts in cash - wonders why this hasn't bought success scenario. Must be top 6 aiming for Europe or seen as a failure. Without Kenwright it would be an even more skewed scenario.

I don't agree with this "might never come up again" chat either. I think Dyche will have a tad more confidence in his own ability to keep improving rather than feel he has no alternative but to snatch at an opportunity now before it's gone forever. I personally think if approached he won't go anywhere just yet and will feel he still has a good job to do here. Summer might be different though.

Gloom? We're 7th in the effing league!

There are a whole variety of managers whose stock was high at one particular point in time, some took a new job and capitalised on it (and possibly were found out), others didn't and have faded away.

Owen Coyle and Aidy Boothroyd are two examples that spring to mind.

Obviously if Dyche continues to develop as he has done then the opportunities will come up again, but it's not always the case.

It will be the beginning of instability for him and his group, if he moves on. Back to 1 to 2 years and gone. Out of work then in somewhere for another short time, maybe.
Burnley is a dychenasty.

‘His stock will never be higher’ is the repeated phrase I keep hearing. Surely it will be ‘higher’ if he achieve a top half finish with us?

I would have thought Dyche would be holding out for a 'Big Six' club, if indeed he wanted to 'step up' in football management.

Everton are a very unfashionable club in a run down part of a city that is the butt of many a joke. They have a wealthy owner for now but with FFP just how much will he put in before he gets bored. Dyche would be risking a lot going there. I still think and hope when he leaves it will be at the end of a season and to a Southern club. I

Will Everton become a smaller club when the get relegated.They are on par with Villa and Leeds who have gone from massive to minnow.

Say what you like but they'll soon have a modern stadium.

These "might never come up again" jobs seem to come up at least once season for BFS.
