Good read thanks for pointing out - must say I agree with a lot of it.

This was in the debate show last night and Merson says timing. He's right. Had they been where we are he would be linked.

Bournemouth fan wouldnt want dyche because he is northern and has an annoying voice. Apparently.

Burnley fans are probably best placed to be the judges given we have had both nd one after the other with the same resources to start with. Arguably howe had better in fact.

While I have no axe to grind with Howe and think he played his part in where we are today, Dyche is. Far far better manger in every way.

Tactically, discipline, orgnisation, results and even imo the style of football is far superior.

"Eddie comes over as highly intelligent, articulate and sophisticated, whereas Dyche cultivates this thick, blunt, northern bloke type persona. And that horrible rasping voice doesn't help matters"

Bournemouth fans should never forget that Eddie Howe performed a miracle to save them from oblivion, then marched them up to the top league in no time. He has, up until now, kept them up. He deserves a statue! Quickly adapting a squad to get up the leagues is a rare gift.

Let's not forget the millions he had from their Russian owner to do that.

Eddie did okay for us, but i always thought he was struggling to defend our goal, when you have to score 2 or3 to win a match, there's trouble ahead, just looking at the league position now Burnley 9F-9A, Bournemouth 6F-14A. Goals win matches, conceding cancels them, Sean V Eddie, Sean Dyche is my man.

Can't say Eddie didn't do a reasonable job while he was here, but he was a million miles away from getting us promoted. No way would we have developed both on and off the field like we have in the past 5 years if he was still here.
We didn't have the resources to finance Eddies Kevin keegan approach to football that the Bournemouth owner has provided, hence their ability to successfull promotions.

In this league, Bournemouth are unable to out finance the rest like they did in the lower leagues to fund any player that Eddie wanted, though Eddie proved finance isn't everything, you still have to make the most of it.
Sean on the other hand got us promoted on the same meagre resources. He equalled Eddies ability to win the championship when he did have a bit of money to spend. Our style of play is developing with goals such as Wardy's against Chelsea for example, while maintaining the framework that Eddie is unable to implement at Bournemouth to make them hard to beat.

Bournemouth have a benefactor who is willing to bankroll wages that are much more attractive than what we pay, yet they are struggling with their 'higher quality' squad. Sean has instilled an ethic throughout the whole club that no amount of money could buy. He has the persona and drive to continue taking us forward, Eddie appears stuck and out of ideas about the way forward for Bournemouth.

Never would I consider swapping Sean for Eddie on so many levels. Sean is the best manager we've had at Burnley taking all things into consideration.

I doubt they will, but should Bournemouth suffer relegation this season, what next for Eddie? I'm sure he'll be given the opportunity to get them promoted again, but what then if he's had all the resources this season and failed to keep them up? Would that indicate that he's reached his limits as a manager?
If at the same time Sean improves on our finish last season, then the Eddie v Sean debate would be proven, though for me it already is.

Dyche is much better at 'recruiting' and coaching defensive players. Howe was much better at 'recruiting' and coaching offensive players.

Dyche should stay with us for a couple more years to improve his offensive coaching skills. He will then be ready to step up to a potential champions league club.

Thought Howe was a humourless southern uptight dullard. I did not enjoy the football under him. Having been a defender he had no idea on how to organise a defence. If he'd stayed at Burnley I'm not sure he would have lasted too long before being axed. He has performed wonders for Bournemouth though.

Oddly enough though, our defence is better than Bournemouth's and our attack is doing a better job.

I'd say Dyche is a better and more rounded manager.
