Is the Curry' s ad the one which says the real meaning of Christmas? When referring to a large screen plasma? Should be banned until December 1st.

My little lad starts Christmas in his bedroom on November 1st every year. He has his tree up, lights and decorations and is piping Christmas music.
I quite like it

I’d rather watch a Christmas advert than Coronation Street

It's the modern compulsive and excessive nature of this country.
We've had it recently with Halloween and Guy Fawkes night, and in a couple or so weeks the country will go mental for Black Friday.
We really have become a country of money oriented materialistic sad b*stards.

It's the long winded adverts that get me the most. You watch it first, all full length and then again in the following break. Then you realise it is only the beginning of November and you are now cursed to waste your life, over and over again, rewatching the same advert for the next 6 weeks.

advertisers are squalid dirt, no advert thesedays is complete unless there is a mixed race kid or couple with an afro, nowt wrong with that you might say, just reflecting modern society. Bullshit. Black people have been here for decades, NOT once did this occur until some ****** ad agency decided it was prudent to exploit the market. These are vile people, always seeking the money at whatever the price.
christmas ads will revel in mirroring things that rarely ever happen, fat northern families sharing christmas day turkey with tons of mythical friends from every continent.

This is what video recorders were invented for. (OK, other recording devices are available. But my vocabulary continues to video programmes, even though tape is no longer used.)

"......some ****** ad agency decided it was prudent to exploit the market. "
That should read ".........until some ad agency woke up to the fact that there is a market of a few million people that were being overlooked and they thought they's better do what they were paid by the retailers to do"

Forget the Christmas ads, adverts are really annoying in general.
Top of the list the stupid muller yoghurt ads with that ultimate witch Nicole Sherzinger getting a drop of the stuff on her nose.
Next any ad with a useless clothes horse poncing about and gurning while modelling crap clothes.
Any ad involving stage school brats dancing about
Any ad involving adults speaking in children's voices.

any advert with staff singing standing in a car park outside some poxy warehouse or bank.
any mcdonalds ads which make eating inside look like a warm pleasant experience when it isn't.
ads for loan companies , inappropriate at xmas when the marketing bastards exploit the poor. **** the lot of em.

Black Friday is the biggest con going.
Manufacturers bring out basic models that look like an expensive current range item. Everyone loses their heads thinking they are getting a whopping deal. In reality Mr CEO is laughing all the way to Fiji for his jollies.

Lady Seraphina has had me playing Christmas songs in the car now for weeks. She's a big fan of Phil Spector's 'A Christmas Giff for You album, at the moment. Santa Claus is Coming to Town, by the Crystals, is a particular favourite.

I rarely watch UK television so manage to avoid adverts and I'm never more glad of it then at this time of year when they're ruining Christmas by starting in November.

Lady G has been a devotee of Phil Spector for a few years now, Your Maj. She also likes Micky Bubbles' Christmas Album that Lady Beamish put on her phone for her last Xmas.

I had to Google Mickey Bubbles before I realised I have been a fan since I was younger than Lady G.

Thankfully, aside from football, I never watch anything when it's actually on, so seeing all that garbage is a thing of the past for me.

Its got the the stage of being over 2 months of the year are for celebrating Christmas, or as I like to call it The Consumerism Holidays. When you consider it, that equates to 4 hours/day of your lives with Christmas adverts promoting stuff you don't want or need but because its Christmas you're going to buy it anyway. 4 hours a day every day...
I really hate this time of year, it has lost its meaning for me and I do my best to avoid overtly Christmas places and people.

We're at Center Parcs in Sherwood at the moment. This is the first week of their near two month Christmas Fedtival. My two girls have seen Santa, visited his North Pole Wonderland, petted his ponies and reindeer, and eaten mince pies. Us adults have quaffed mulled wine and spiced cider(and eaten mince pies and stollen), and, last night, we were all treat to a fantastic firework display that they put on every week up 'til Christmas itself.
And we've still got the real Christmas to come!
Result!

Apologies if this has already been mentioned but at the end of the M&S Paddington advert the burglar appears to bend down to Paddington and say ''F**k you little bear'' - surely this isn't in keeping with Christmas tradition ?

Give it 5 more years and we'll be having Christmas adverts immediately after Easter.
Give it 10 more years and we'll be having Christmas adverts, immediately after Christmas, for the following year.

BET "FWEE SIX FIVE" with Ray 'kin Winston, any Paddy 'kin Power ad and all radio advertisements - particularly those where try to speed read endless terms, conditions and exclusions should be destroyed and the creators exterminated.
And that's just my starting position!"

Being a parent I get double the joy.
I get to be Father Christmas and methodically acquire all the prezzies. Then I get to watch my lad's eyes light up when he open's them on Christmas Day.
That is the best bit of Christmas for me.

Not if you sling the TV in the local skip and live online instead. Television is an outdated, patronising, lying sack of ****.
It's had it's time.
