Burnley FC should buy them and then wind the buggers up for good.
Then build a bloody big, green-domed mosque on Bloomfield Road.

Always liked Blackpool, particularly when their “fan of the season” got arrested on the pitch doing an interview before the match.
Now that WAS funny!

What year was that? I was young st the time (born 1987) but remember like yesterday.
Also remember being stood at the bottom of the terrace and the pitch was eye height

Was that in the paddock on the side of the pitch? Think that was one of my first away games in there. There were Burnley fans fighting Burnley fans at half time apparently over the last pie?!?!?!

That reminds me of the time outside Yates's on the front.
We were having some banter with a lone Blackpool fan..'tower up your a**e' and all that..then he responded with "rather have a tower than a mosque"

Vague memories of roaring with laughter when they nicked him. Can't remember what he was doing though? Was he trying to incite the Clarets fans?
Would have been around 1994 when David Eyres smacked one in with his right foot and ran over to the Blackpool fans by mistake. Mini Claret pitch invasion at the end and a few jumped into the home end for a dust up with locals. The police got a bit heavy handed after dragging fans across the pitch by handcuffs placed behind their backs.

good for them. I need them to be good enough that we play them regularly but not good enough that they actually win, it's much more amusing that way.

They were trying to do the interview and film it but stupidly in front of us. Every time they started the obscene chants kicked in. They tried a few times to start again, but the banter flew..........Then he undid his coat and showed his Blackpool shirt and Clarets fans raised the volume. Then a copper came across to sort it out but the fan got stroppy......the pies flew.........he got stroppier, copper got hold, he kicked off, the chants got better, then he lashed out and copper and plods mates saw their chance.
Both arms up his back and off he went, to much celebration from the Clarets on their small equivalent of the long side....

REmember it very well, JImmy Maccer has it pretty well spot on. But almost certain it wad half time. God knows why they chose to to do the interview right in front of us. Very funny though!

According to everybody the Oystens have bled them dry. Christ alone knows why it took so long to get something done about it. Whenever this story rears it's ugly head I feel very thankful we have the board we have.

So no sense of humour, and they change the ref presumably when it is pointed out.

The owner probably pointed it out and threatened to sue for libel. Paranoia about keeping his good reputation intact

It would be funny if they accepted and sold you the club for £1 or something like that which includes you buying all the debt.....
Property and debt have been bought many times before for around a quid!

Spoke to a Blackpool friend last night-one of the "Banned By Oyston" crew- and there is talk that Fleetwood owner Andy Pilling may be interested.

It's Andy Pilley and I think he tried to buy them before he moved in at Fleetwood.
Similarly David Haythornthwaite was the one with big plans for Blackpool and a new stadium by the M55. He twice tried to buy the club but the Oystons kept him out. He now owns AFC Fylde and has been heavily linked in last few days with trying to buy Blackpool. He said yesterday that he had no intentions of making an offer.

He did. Haythornthwaite was a lot earlier than that, maybe closer to 20 years, but he had a lot of problems with the Oystons and walked away. Both are Blackpool fans and both now running clubs with the intention of being the best club on the Fylde.
