The only reason I am posting this here is because I know I can as I don't really know many of you and I need to vent...

1 year ago today my life changed forever when my beautiful wife suffered a catastrophic stroke. At this time exactly 1 year ago I was signing a form that could save my wife or kill her....we had only been married 6 months...

Thankfully she survived and continues to recover, albeit slowly.

Sorry for posting this here but I am struggling today and can't put this on my FB page :-(

UTC and 3 points tomorrow.....

CD

Good news in a way. Better it hadn't happened but at least things are getting better. We all have things to deal with, some worse than others, so it is always nice to hear a positive, and I think yours is moving towards a positive mate. Best of luck and I hope things continue to improve.

Sorry you're feeling a bit low. Be strong and be glad you've had another 365 days together. Plan a little treat together, doesn't have to be much. Maybe just a coffee out or chips on the beach. Something simple you used to enjoy. It will bring back happy memories and make you both glad for what you have.

I recently spilt with the love of my life after 7 years. I don't know how I will ever get over her. But then you read things like this and just reflect. Maybe I just need to man up a bit.

Good luck and best wishes claretsdiver and wife.

My wife used to work as a Brain Attack Nurse. Strokes are awful and need far more research into treatment. Fortunately alteplase is having some positive results but much more needs to be done.

I wish you and your wife all the best on her road to recover.

This site is so much more than a football chat place and that's a positive thing mostly.

Glad your wife is on the recovery road, stay strong and as above plan a little treat for both of you. Good luck.

Hope you have a good day today and the Clarets can put a smile on your face which you can then share with your wife.
Good luck for the future to both of you and I am sure many Clarets will be thinking of you.

Hiya mate, it went well. We have managed to get her 2 chairs, one lightweight one for the car and a larger, heavier one for round town. Also managed to get some alterations to the house.

Just waiting on some specialist stuff for the kitchen etc as she still doesn't have use of the right arm so I need to get her cooking somehow :-)

With my help she is starting to make candles, bathbombs and biltong to give her a sense of pride and also friends have said they will buy them so it will give her a little independence and income!

We still have a long way to go and we are still fighting the government for some sort of benefits for her....long roads mate, long roads!! BUT we stand side by side and we are fighting together!
