Is he the same Howard who was a regular on the after match phone-in on Radio 'Lancashire" when I used to listen to it in the 90's?

He put the whole thing in perspective, the way the club runs, the style of play and he said of the Everton move as a backward step that was brilliant because 3 mins later an Evertonion came on to put the record straight Everton or massive compared to us and any move was a big step forward Lawro put him in his place by asking him to check the league positions ha ha nice one Lawro utc

What a top man that was a superb and humble view of the situation at this time - we are up there with the big boys - can we stay there.

" I wer goin on't Urf Mo-ur fer fifty seven year now..." God I bloody miss that accent.

But bang on what he says, it's a great time to be a Burnley fan. It was only when ClaretsTony was talking about bucket collections and getting thrown out of the game you'd sponsored that it showed how far we've come over 30 years.

Not overnight. Not by spending insane money. Just small , patient increments of success on and off the field.

Wigan, Rovers, Bolton , Fulham, Leeds, Derby, Forrest. They've all had their time to shine in the top flight over the years. Now it's bloody our turn!

You can get some right muppets on the footy phone ins, where passion blinds the sight, but Howard came across excellent and spelt it out exactly as most fans see it.

He used to sell draw tickets in the Bob Lord back in the early 80s, he sold me a winner against Birmingham city in a cup match. I think I won £100

Is Howard a plumber? If so I think he fixed my dads boiler. He’s a decent bloke and a proper claret

He's used to get me really annoyed on Radio Lancs because he was so negative, but he was bob on last night.

I've just listened to Howard and his accent made me all nostalgic.

And he is about the same age as me and I too remember the European matches. For some reason I can still clearly remember the Eintrach(sp.) Frankfurt game because I think we drew away and I was hopeful we would get through to the next round. But, sadly they beat us at the Turf.

Should also add he was spot on was Howard with his comments.

i thought the lady who called in late on 606 was excellent, clarets fan who lived in blackburn. she discussed dyche and everton, lawro was in full agreement with her.
