Re: Wilf Bony/Swansea fans
I actually thought he did well when he came on. The trouble was he was having to go very deep to get the ball when he really needs to be in the box scoring. He won his share of headers against Tarks and made life much more difficult for him and he was the main reason we weren't able to go an and make it 4/5 in the second half imo.

Had anyone explained to him what that big white metal frame behind Nick Pope was?

Re: Wilf Bony/Swansea fans
Thought he gave them something else when he came on, certainly very hard to knock off the ball.
But he only had one real chance, and that was in the 95th minute.

Re: Wilf Bony/Swansea fans
City paid £30m for him
Swansea bought him back for £13m I think....but he has to be on £100k a week as he would not have gone back there for a pay cut given he seemed happy to spend 2 years sat on his arse.
Absolutely awful signing by Swansea.
Clement is a tit - how the hell did he get the job ? Ancelotti's bag carrier. Failed Derby manager....and now spent a fortune on an awful team.
That said I'm glad he's a tit - as he's a tit who sold us Jack Cork !

I think he means me!! Yep. I just thought he gave them a lift, won headers and held the ball up and linked with others and actually put us on the back foot a bit when first half we'd really been so, so comfortable.Siddo wrote:Are you being serious?

Re: Wilf Bony/Swansea fans
I'm not saying he's worth £30 million of ANYBODY'S money mind you!! The ONE chance he did have, he didn't take and headed tamely at Pope.
Re: Wilf Bony/Swansea fans
He hasn't played for ages.
Re: Wilf Bony/Swansea fans
Not having a go at you mate. Just thought he was poor today and his finishing was worse. If he had put just one of his chances away it would have been a different game.Dark Cloud wrote:I'm not saying he's worth £30 million of ANYBODY'S money mind you!! Macc, I just wet myself at that one.
Talking to a Swede at work who is friendly with Thomas Brolin who has lost all his money through a gambling addiction & is now selling hoovers, that must suck.

Must be the most inappropriately named footballer ever. No wonder he puts Wilfred on his shirt. I don't normally like slapstick but he was something else.

Interestingly, Clement's last defeat as Derby manager was at Turf Moor, his last as Swansea manager could just be the same given the owners came in from America this weekend.TVC15 wrote:Clement is a tit - how the hell did he get the job ? Re: Wilf Bony/Swansea fans
At least he got involved, if only to show he’s a big unit with a wayward shot on him.
I was curious at half time as to who he was replacing. I couldn’t imagine it would be Abraham and i’d genuinely forgotten Ayew was playing. That lad’s 45 minutes was up there with Berahino last season for being completely anonymous.
Some guys earning vast sums for nowt.

That must take real talent especially when the conditions weren't particularly wintry.Steve1956 wrote:That Abraham was worse he kept skiing it over be bar,
I was really disappointed not to be there yesterday, and now I find that I've missed something quite extraordinary.

More a team problem.
Abraham looked like all the other silky skilled youngsters. Great if things are going your way. Totally lightweight if getting stuck in is required.

Re: Wilf Bony/Swansea fans
Bony is some unit, I actually thought Tarks hurt himself when he ran into him. The Bony of 4 years ago seems to have left the building long ago.
Swansea support was crap, though to be fair, travelling from South Wales to watch that shower must be hard, so Kudos to those that did bother.

There were Swansea fans there yesterday?
Re: Wilf Bony/Swansea fans
There was a discussion the other day on here about whether Abraham was worthy of an England call up. I said not and I am still of that opinion.

Re: Wilf Bony/Swansea fans
The Swansea fans were poor, I’ll give you that, but Bony was a real handful when he came on. His movement in between the Centre halves, his runs into the channels for balls which didn’t materialise, his aerial ability, power and touch I thought were spot on. I thought he had a decent game.

Relegation would be a financial disaster for Swansea. Bony and his chums must be on massive wages. I personally would not give any of them house room

Re: Wilf Bony/Swansea fans
Must have been watching a different game. OK the ball stuck to him occasionally and Tarkowski bounced off him. But he had the turning circle of a steam roller whilst lacking the agility. A massive downgrade on Jason Scotland, Bony 1 and Gomis
Re: Wilf Bony/Swansea fans
I thought Bony did well, some nice link up play. He hasn't played consistently in years and you can tell. The fee City paid for Bony years ago is irrelevant because he's quite clearly not the same player he was 4 years ago when they bought him.

like the guy they sold to everton for vast amounts of money who, also, aint doing too well. perhaps swansea will buy him back for a fraction of what everton paid them for him. good way to do business, in a way.KRBFC wrote:I thought Bony did well, some nice link up play. Re: Wilf Bony/Swansea fans
long time since i have seen a more inept series of shots off target than yesterday. swansea players should be ashamed of that lack of ability.
Paid a fortune, and even THE basic of skills was lacking. Truly atrocious in front of goal.

Re: Wilf Bony/Swansea fans
i thought that about Keane too but it's early days for him at a new club. if we could get him for £10-15 million i would be happy enough. how much would spurs have to pay us to get Tripps back at a fraction of his transfer fee? must be around £5million.Dark Cloud wrote:I thought that about both Williams AND Sigurdson, until I suddenly remembered Micheal Keane! Bony is a Dyche player. I’d sign him tomorrow. Stop
him going to the gym and inculcate him into the Burnley FC ethic and you’ll have a real player

He gave a poor side a bit of a lift but wasn't up to our fitness. He's a big lad, he needs playing time, otherwise he'll look a big lump.
