I said after they played us that they were really poor, in general not just on the day, but at that point we hadn't got it together playing against teams who were sitting back against us, we'd had the same problem with Sunderland in recent season.ClaretTony wrote:Didn't realise it until Saturday but they haven't won since they beat us
Thankfully our midfield are getting a taste for attacking and Dyche is happy to go 2 up top when the opposition are wilting.

I thought they bought some decent players in the summer as well. All the pundits seemed to think the same too so I'm surprised how it's gone tbh.

WBA are far from skint but I can just see them going for one of the out of work Brigade. BFS Billic Pardew etc. And I'm not sure it would hold that much appeal to SD
I actually see this as more bad news for Clement. I would imagine Swansea would consider Pulis as an option to turn around their fortunes.

How bloody ridiculous is all this getting ? Despite the Clarets doing extremely well, and
enjoying every minute of it, I am slowly getting sick and tired of everything the premier
league represents.
Why oh why don't they now introduce a transfer window for managers ? As someone pointed
out in an earlier thread, it makes me wonder if this is a process by which these foreign owners
are able to launder their dirty money. It does make me wonder tbh.

Why so funkydrummer?
It's their prerogative. WBA have 10 points at the moment and are fast approaching the part of the season where they can do something about it.
The manager has had his funds, made his choices and it's apparent that it's not working. Time for someone else to come and do what they can over xmas/jan transfer window and try turn it around.

Honestly... some of the comments.
In one of the most high stakes sports businesses in the entire world... people are teary eyed about "forrin owners" wanting to keep their club in one of the most lucrative businesses in the world? It's a competitive game, it's a competitive market ITS THE BIGGEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD - THEYRE GONNA WANT RESULTS. There's fuckloads of money about. Someones gonna get sacked eventually...

"Why so funkydrummer?"
I don't know, just sick and tired of all the continuous unrest that runs right the way through the league.
Just choose your manager carefully and stick with him/her - if you are not happy after a certain time, by
all means get shut, but don't start poaching someone else's manager.
You can't do it with players, so why with managers ? It just annoys me that's all.

This is what happens when you get mega rich people buying clubs and using them as a play thing. They have no real interest in the welfare of the club, all they want is to win something.Funkydrummer wrote:How bloody ridiculous is all this getting ? Despite the Clarets doing extremely well, and

Worth saying that you can't expect people to stop mentioning SD in relation to any job going, simply because he's doing such an amazing job here.
I'd take speculation every single minute of every single day if it meant we keep this form up.

As always, a short article on site when a manager in our division moves on
http://www.uptheclarets.com/and-pulis-makes-five" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And as Lancaster says, there is always going to be speculation. As annoying as it is, it's better than there being none.

I think that's what lead to some of the panic at the time. Chelsea felt like a cup match and the WBA defeat brought us down to earth with a bump. They looked a poor side who were there for the taking. Now it just looks like one of those afternoons that happen from time to time.BleedingClaret wrote:I said after they played us that they were really poor, in general not just on the day, but at that point we hadn't got it together playing against teams who were sitting back against us,

Re: Pulis sacked
The players' transfer window plays a part in this autumn sacking round I think.
If a team is struggling and looking to spend big money on new players in January to help rectify that, they need to seriously consider getting a new manger in place before December starts.
If they don't trust the incumbent, they risk is spending their war chest in vain and then they are shot. Any new manager needs to be given a few weeks' worth of games to access his squad and decide on what new recruits he needs before Jan starts.
If there was no players' transfer window, I think some of the panicked clubs would have stuck a bit longer.
Michael O'Neill is the early bookies' favourite with BFS, Pardew and Derek McInnes sitting in behind.

Megson as caretaker. Smirk.
And Michael O'Neill as favourite for the job. Double smirk.
Hopefully this will be one of the three relagation places we don't need to worry about.

I'm with you on that one. I've been worried about relegation ever since Ashley Barnes got our second against SwanseaFoulthrow wrote:Hopefully this will be one of the three relagation places we don't need to worry about.

Re: Pulis sacked
I'm worried about relegation until we get 40 points. 18 points are hard to get in this division. We've not been battering teams. We have won games by fine margins - as soon as that changes life is going to get a lot tougher.

Haha. Can’t believe the panic about Dyche in some quarters.
If Dyche went to WBA it would be unprecedented in top flight history. I think Coyle (and maybe Redknapp) held the record before for jumping ship to a lower side, but in terms of league position has there ever been a time in 100+ years when a manager in this league has voluntarily dropped over 10 places?
No, Everton I could just about envisage, but these other sides, unless SD was genuinely unhappy, which seems far from what he is, it is panicking over nothing.

SD's best mates Adrian Chiles and Frank Skinner will be bending his ear on this one.
SD is that big a baggies fan he's got a full back tattoo of Cyrille Regis' face, and he isn't allowed to travel on the rail network on a matchday after getting up to some naughty business as a Section 5 headcase

Big appointment for WBA to make now - Pulis and Allardyce are go to men for survival.
I've nothing against WBA, but it's about time they (and Stoke) got relegated. Fairs fair and all that.

Re: Pulis sacked
1) I did not have Dyche nailed on for Everton at all - I had as little clue about whether he was going as anyone else. I was quite happy to believe SD that there was no question to answer as no approach had been made.Sidney1st wrote:TVC had Dyche nailed on for Everton with contract agreed etc.
Wouldn't worry about what they're saying in regards to Dyche/WBA.
2) My information about west brom is 100% bona fide. Jeremy Peace, Baggies chairman, is actually my dad and the billionaire owner Guochuan Lai is my step sister (its complicated).
All that said and despite SD`s close links to West Brom I have no idea whether they are interested in him (or him in they).
