Star Trek: Discovery is probably pretty good for non-Star Trek fans.

The Railway Man

It's on Covenant via Kodi, if you've got that.

I’m nearly halfway through The Punisher series and I’m thoroughly gripped. Bit gruesome mind.

Finished The Sinner this morning, excellent particularly the two leads.
Started Paranoid tonight, good start. Shows 6.8 on imdb but no individual episode gets less than 7.4. Odd.

When we were kings - possibly the best sports documentary ever.

American Vandal - comedy series - fantastic if you’ve listened to Serial podcast or watched making a murderer

Confession tapes

Southland

'London has Fallen' and :-

'Designated Survivor,' now in it's 2nd series.

Features Keifer Sutherland aka Jack Bauer.

Definately worth a watch, particularly series 1

Another shoutout for "The Sinner", it was excellent.
Also "Stranger Things", "Ozark", "Mindhunter" and "Mr Mercedes" are very good.
I'm currently hacking through "The Punisher" which is watchable but daft.

Bloodline is absolutely brilliant, I've watched it twice
Lily hammer is a good laugh too, gangster comedy

Now, in my defence, I didn't see it when it was originally on so only just found it. It's crude but I just find it hilarious....

My current Netflix guilty pleasure at the moment........... Benidorm.

I enjoyed Santa Clarita Diet and currently watching Alias Grace.
There's loads of good series to watch on there.

Narcos, best thing i've seen in years. Not a TV type ordinarily, but this was brilliant.

Narcos is good. Very good in fact.

The railway man is a great film.

Also, just watched a film with Jane Fonda and Robert Redford. Quite good, in a girlie film type way. Struggling with the name, sorry

Caught up with episodes 1 and 2 of Mindhunter last night. Tell me it's not all "theory" for 10 episodes !

If The Railway Man is taken from the book it might not meet your expectations based on your description. It's not the tale of a man "hunting down" anyone. It's a real life account of Jap war crimes, barbarism, torture and cruelty with the silver lining that one man re-discovered an ex-soldier (his conscripted translator/interrogator) who was actually kind enough to apologize for being a part of the brutality.

It has that as a story of redemption but apart from that it is a dark and horrible account.

I ought to say I haven't seen the film, only read the book.

Otherwise, if you want to watch a film about Japanese war crimes and the mistreatment of POWs you could watch "To End All Wars". Link below.

It’s not all theory for 10 episodes. Sorry - that’s a lie, I’m just telling you what you want to hear. It is all theory for 10 episodes and the series never gets going in my opinion. I stuck with it to the end because I was invested in it but if you’re only 2 episodes in I’d recommend you drop it.

Wooden acting and a real lack of chemistry between some of the cast also. Shame because I thought the subject matter was interesting.
