If a good solicitor in the field of trademarking/rights protection has been unable to see a way out then just change the name to V or Club Vogue and have done with it not worth fighting.

Should tell them to do one. They were there first. No comparison between a magazine and a nightclub.

But then how do they get the publicity for their Sopranos event?

Years ago a guy I know bought the Bishop Blaize pub in Rawtenstall and opened up as Madison Wine Lodge he received legal papers of Yates's telling him Wine Lodge is a trademark and he had to change it to Wine Bar.

He should have been brought to task under the trade descriptions act for use of the term ‘wine bar’.

Yeah dead right should have been 'The Vinegar Ale Bar' ( with special aroma)

Never heard of it, but not been out in Burnley for years. Where abouts is it situated?

Burnley Road, Rawtenstall opposite the market, it's an Indian restaurant now, no surprise there!

Top end of Hammerton Street close to the lights junction with Manchester Road.
Think it was an old chapel or something like that.

Think it was a nightclub years ago and Judge Jules played there.

Aye but I don't think it was originally built for that purpose.

I've been once just for crack (my idea) It was deafening but empty.. majority of the crowd were out back.

I went in once when it first opened - was one of the weirdest places I've ever been. There was myself and a girl I'd met who said to go there ...... And a topless Polish bloke power dancing alone on the dancefloor.
I got a drink and we sat in the corner wondering the hell was going on and from a whole empty club - the Polish bloke still topless decided to come and sit next to us and not say a word

.
I used to go in A LOT when it was XS/Fusion but never wandered in again after that experience.

In this scenario, would the nightclub be able to just change the o to a zero (v0gue), hence keeping the name basically the same but changing the spelling so it's not technically the same as the magazine? Or is there a law against that as well?

Surely Club Vogue is sufficiently differentiated from Vogue Magazine.
Are they about to sue Madonna now? Just big bullies

It's ridiculous. Fair enough if the nightclub was aggressively expanding and becoming a staple of nightlife in towns and cities nationwide but it's not. The law should be changed so that if your business has turnover under a certain amount and/or is confined to one location you're exempt from being targeted like this. Most likely it's somebody at Vogue magazine HQ trying to justify their salary.

The problem is Vogue magazine are starting their own club nights in clubs around the country so they don't want other clubs called Vogue, they could possibly trademark 'Club Vogue' and 'Vogue Club' then when the magazine start Vogue Club nights send them a trademark infringement letter see how they like it.

Bloody nightclubs !! is there anything more pathetic. ****hole northern towns on damp rainy nights with names like Mr Tramps, or La De Bojangles or summat. They are always frequented by the stupid, inevitable psychopathic thug, drug peddling doorstaff, some local car dealership owner bungs his son a few grand to open up a once decent building and turn it into some lame copy of an equally crass London based club. Or the hideous Ibiza themed hellholes with their vaccuous DJ's.

I've been in a couple of times after staying out way past my what my better judgement should have told me was acceptable and the clientele are pretty grim. I'm not against people doing drugs, and have done drugs myself in the past but literally everyone in there was off their nut. It's also annoying how much aggro all the zombies cause at 08:00 on a Saturday and Sunday morning when they spill out into the road. I was held up myself the other week by some girl dancing in the middle of the road totally oblivious to the fact a queue of traffic was forming behind her, a couple of blasts of the horn soon cleared her out of the way!

Had some cracking nights in there when it was XS and Fusion but not been in for years. Places like Vogue and Blu Bar staying open till 8 in morning are responsible for helping to ruin Burnley's nightlife.

I went there back in the day. Run by the same owners as the former angels nightclub. Didn't last long I don't think though.

Was open a while, at its prime in my opinion it was run by two lads who weren’t old enough to have gone Angels. However the head doorman was the same as Angels (and good) and a Dj from Angels.

Might be thinking of a different place. This was a church type building, all done up new. Was near bus station I think. Not very big inside. Steps going up into it?

Think you'll be thinking of Afterlife. That is going back yeah from what I remember wasn't open long at all. Seem to recall it was where you headed if you got turned away from the Works.

That's it. So its vogue now. It was mid to late 90s when I was last there. Had top DJs doing sets at the time.
Blackburn had 'club euro' at the same time, with the likes of Dave Pearce doing sets.
