Last night I had the "pleasure" of taking some customers to the Everton v Atalanta game. Before the game Kevin Ratcliffe was interviewed in the corporate lounge where he told a few stories about the old days and went on to explain that he was now working for BBC Wales following the likes of Swansea, Cardiff, Wrexham etc.

He said that he had been on the Burnley Swansea game and went on to wax lyrical about the job that Dyche had done with Burnley, the quality of football that Burnley are playing and that in his view Dyche was the man for the Everton job. He said the only reason that Dyche was not the front runner was the fact he was English and he suggested he should change his name to Sean Dychio.

As for the game Everton were poor, really poor. To be fair I did not feel that Keane played too badly considering and I almost felt sorry for Rooney trying to orchestrate something with that shower of useless wasters.

well maybe he just looked better playing along side Williams. Also have to admit the bar did distract me a little!

Talksport going overboard again that he should get the job, and actually some Everton fans now say "He's always been our first choice"

I just hope SD can see through the bullshit at a club in trouble and wait till the summer before he gets his well deserved move.

Sean Dyche does what he wants.

Not what the media shower says he should do.

Do they really think he will ever go anywhere he isn't first choice?

I think Rick's right.

No way will anyone in the top six appoint Dyche. Then for another team in the Premier League to appoint him we'd have to take a serious dive in form to be bettered.

He'd be ideal in Italy, Milan maybe, but that would be a big move.

Never thought I'd say this, but he might just get us into Europe

IMO only a very few clubs in this country would be a step up career wise for SD and we know he’s unlikely to be on a list for Utd when Jose goes; City when Pep pops off; Pool when Klippity Klopps; Arsene-al Wenger; or take up the Spurs after Poch; he’s too good for Chelski though

Of course there’s always Real Madrid or Barcelona.......

What happened to the buffoon poster (wasn't he called Sam Well or some such) who launched a "Dyche Out" thread in the middle of last season ? Remember thinking how incredibly stupid he must be at the time ...surely the pain of self-realisation must now have hit even him.

After last night's European flop, all of the odds for the top candidates have dropped with Betfair. Currently Silva is at 2/1 even though Watford have, allegedly, told Everton to Buzz Off. BFS is way out in the betting whilst our Sean is trading between 7/1 and 11/1

In other words, no one has any idea !

Quite simply, the better we do, the more chance we have of keeping him.

I know that sounds slightly odd, but if the Everton job doesn't happen, then if we maintain our position of 7-10th for the rest of the season, then beyond the big 6, why would he move?

We are improving incrementally each year both on and off the pitch. Player budget is bigger each year. There is still plenty of scope for improvement in the way we are setup. This is what the national media fails to realise when they say he has taken us as far as he can.

Not really sure what this obsession is with fans wanting him to get a "well deserved move". That comes across as though we are beneath him. It's a 2 way street remember.

TBF - I still say Dyche Out every match ..... Mainly just to laugh at a mate of ours who was spitting feathers after the Hull away game and adamant Dyche could not take us anywhere.

Also I partly do it just to see how many people get angry about it being shouted and seeing all the angry heads turn to see who shouted it

Watching the Everton game last night my thoughts were that one more reason that Dyche might fancy the job had evaporated, the depth of squad including young players, well there all rather average at best and all soft as cotton wool.

Everton seem to have spoken with BFS and nothing came of that.
They've tried to lure Silva from Watford but nothing seem to have come from that either.

They may still come back in for Dyche if the ex-Chairman can persuade
the new boss to do so.

If they do so I hope Dyche tells them where to go even more so if the suggestion from Nixon
that Dyche's people let Everton know he wasn't interested is correct.
Not sure why they would do that and presume not without Dyche agreeing.

It does all sound bizarre and Everton are quickly becoming a laughing stock
as they don't seem to know what to do.

Having said that Everton were always a club I liked and respected.
But they're going downhill at present which is sad to see.

This is what happens when you get semi-dodgy foreign owners who appoint
someone (Koeman) who admittedly had done well at Southampton and previous clubs Ajax and PSV
but was happy to spend the money on players who haven't performed whilst not replacing
Lukaka the chief goal scorer. And a few months down the road they off load him
without much of an idea who they want.
And a month later they seem no closer to getting someone in and continuing to lose.

Everton fans must be close to tearing their hair out. I would be if I was one of them.
